Hailing from all parts Western New York, Skyepilot is a 5-piece band now centered in Buffalo. Having serendipitously formed in late 2012, Skyepilot has endured name and personnel changes to get to its current lineup. It's a lineup that features some of Buffalo's finest young talent : the guitar fireworks of Matt Fantini, the expressive guitar stylings of Justin DeCarlo - all powered by Brandon Haima and Paul Zabrycki (drum and bass, respectively). Then there is Sky, Skyepilot's lyrical wizard, able to cast enchanting spells on audiences with excellent jazz & pop vocal melodies.
It's a combination of sounds that sets Skyepilot apart. A mixture of funk, blues, soul, and rock at its core, with some jazz, psychedelia, and jamtronica layered around it.
The combination of these forces are what has Skyepilot emerging as one of the city's best jam bands. It's a group that has shared the bill with jam luminaries Melvin Seals and Mark Karan, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Max Creek, (and soon Rusted Root) and fellow Buffalo bands Aqueous, Funktional Flow, and Slip Madigan, among others.
It's a combination that makes people dance, leaves fellow musicians amazed, and above all, leaves people feeln' good and feelin' groovy. It's a group we think you will really enjoy, so stay tuned for upcoming shows and events, and hope to see you out there dancing soon!
The Grace Stumberg Band
Grace Stumberg is a creator of friendly original music that grabs the ears of any listener. Singing Buffalo's "Good Feet" jingle and opening for bands such as Rusted Root, Hawksley Workman, and Haiku, she has earned her keep in the music industry. Inspired by raw simple songwriting that really rocks out, Grace's music is a genre that can be explained as pop/rock/funky and sometimes folk; never fully understood until experienced.
Grace has learned the ways of the "touring world" by serving as folk legend Joan Baez's guitar tech and personal assistant. As a result, Grace has gained an insatiable hunger to share her music with others. She has toured with musicians such as Left On Red and Pete Mroz, singing songs to bring awareness to fair-trade purchases and raising money for local food banks. Grace Stumberg's own live performances consistently demonstrate her musical abilities, incorporating a wide range of cover songs as well as her own originals.
Don't forget her band comprised of Grace Lougen- Lead electric guitar, Michael Petrino on bass guitar and Josh English- drums. Stumberg can show up and shake up with this group and get crowds moving.
Grace has just released her second album entitled "Affect" and would like to thank everyone involved in making this possible, especially all the Fan-Funders and is excited to share the music with you.
