The Funk Hunters are one of Canada’s top breakout acts, gaining accolades from all corners of the electronic music scene and pushing boundaries with the constant evolution of their live stage show featuring custom synched visuals. Nick Middleton and Duncan Smith have redefined their sound, bridging the gap between electronic and live music. Combining the melody and emotion of funk and soul with the grit and heavy punch of electronic drums and basslines, The Funk Hunters signature sound has been selling out venues across the country and leading them on tours around the world.

With his unmistakable baritone voice and 6-and-a-half foot charm, Chali 2na has established himself as one of hip-hop's preeminent and charismatic personalities, and has also garnered renowned praise as a visual artist across a wide spectrum of mediums. Most known for his association with the music groups Jurassic 5 and Ozomatli, Chali released his debut solo album "Fish Outta Water" in 2009. Since then, he has been touring the world with his 3-piece live band know as the House Of Vibe. A San Francisco based singer songwriter/composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer; he is pushing the envelope of what we know as pop music. His compositions are a blend of old-school funk/R&B mixed with the sounds of late 60's/70's rock and topped off with a jazz/avant-garde influence, coming together to create a style entirely all his own. Joe has appeared for thousands at festivals and venues including Lincoln Center's Avery Fischer Hall in NYC, Promise for Peace, the Berkeley Jazz Festival, the San Francisco Jazz Festival, and the San Francisco North Beach Jazz Festival.

Forrest Day

One of the dominating names in the San Francisco Bay Area live music scene, Forrest Day and his phenomenal five piece band, complete with bass, drums, keyboard, guitar, and the incredibly talented singer/sax player/songwriter, Forrest Day, are absolutely of fire right now. They are selling out many of the large venues in The Bay Area and have just come of their successful first National Tour. They are a genre-defying band, supported by a sound that draws from hip-hop, punk, reggae, pop, circus music and jazz. Day's lyrics are relevant and political, humorous and insightful. Their live shows consistently amaze audiences with their high energy, intensity, and their very danceable songs. A few limited edition copies of their new full-length, self-titled album are available at their shows, with a full-blown, world-wide release scheduled for March, 2011.

Kevin Welch

Kevin Welch's poetic songs paint pictures of real people--people you know, people you've seen--so clearly that you realize quickly he's a keen observer of the human experience. His songs have an almost film-like quality in their vision and beauty.

After growing up in Oklahoma, where he played in a popular regional band, Blue Rose Cafe, Kevin moved to Nashville in the late 1970s, upon the suggestion of his friend John Hadley, a professor at the University of Oklahoma. Once in Nashville, he became a songwriter for Tree International. His songs were recorded by such artists as Moe Bandy, Waylon Jennings, Roger Miller, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, The Highwaymen, The Judds, The Kendalls, Patty Loveless, Reba McEntire, Charlie Pride, Ricky Skaggs, Pam Tillis, Randy Travis, Conway Twitty, Don Williams, and Trisha Yearwood.

DJ Zeph

Inspired by everyone from Public Enemy, Stevie Wonder, Jungle Brothers to Bill Laswell, Zeph's sound is musically daring and pleasingly unique. Equally celebrated as a producer, engineer, and turntablist, DJ Zeph's career is on the steady rise.

D.J. Zeph's raw scratching and cuts deliver energetic performances that integrate air sirens, drum loops, bass harmonica, and a wah-wah-saw solo. But whether it's sub-textual mood or up front cutting, Zeph's mark is undeniably Zeph.

Motion Potion

MoPo (aka Robbie Kowal) is one of America's most versatile, experienced and flat-out joyous party rockers. His decade long mission is to 'put the party back into the party', and to connect the casual music fan with the hard core dance music mavens; proving that music is more than just beats. San Francisco's bootleg indie remix partypusher, is known for a rare ability to play exactly the right music for the moment and an expertise with a wide variety of genres that he seamlessly melds into a coherent blend. Since breaking out as a rare groove Dj in the 90's he has spent the 21st Century using eclectic club styles, break beat, trip hop and tech funk as a backdrop for his genrebending experiments. From a near religious love of funk and hip hop, to a lifetime study of rock and roll to a massive aptitude for latin, reggae and other outernational formats, MoPo incorporates bits and pieces of music culture into electronic edits that slam the dancefloor. As a backdrop, he creates, edits or chooses only the biggest baddest breaks, hooks and drops to create a sound that truly slams. To the dancer, MoPo is a breath of fresh air, often transforming a room into collective song or crowd chant that connect the audience to the DJ.

These abilities have seen him preceding, following or tagging with a who's who of breakbeat heroes like Afrika Bambaataa, DJ Icey, Cut Chemist, Grandmaster Flash, James Lavelle, Bassnectar, DJ Vadim, Tipper, Kraak & Smaak, Aquasky, Fort Knox 5, Z-trip. He's also been among the first DJs to play many a rock festival including an unprecedented 6-year run at Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival and the first DJ sets ever at Gathering of the Vibes, High Sierra, Berkfest, Caribbean Holidaze, Mid Atlantic Music Experience, and Rothbury festival. He even played at Govt Mule's legendary "Deepest End" show, called one of the Top 10 shows of the Decade by Jambase. A live turntablist for the indie techno circus The Mutaytor, MoPo has sat in with Parliament-Funkadelic, Galactic, Rebirth Brass Band and BLVD. He has opened for live music legends like James Brown, Maceo Parker, Widespread Panic, String Cheese Incident, Femi Kuti, Sheryl Crow, Spearhead, Jurassic 5, Isaac Hayes, Blackalicious, and Pendulum.

NON STOP BHANGRA

Highlighting the ancestral roots of Punjabi dance while pushing boundaries with contemporary influences, Non Stop Bhangra is a genre-busting elixir of North Indian Bhangra music and dance, mixed with reggae, hip-hop, and electronica. An ever-evolving collective of dancers, DJs, drummers, vocalists, and musicians, Non Stop Bhangra is a non-stop party. Featuring dance lessons and performances with Dholrhythms Dance Company, and music by DJ Jimmy Love, the group has won legions of fans with its monthly events in San Francisco. Dholrhythms Dance Company also promotes the artistic and cultural heritage of India with classes and workshops, providing a unique platform for people of diverse backgrounds to come together and dance in a positive environment.

Non Stop Bhangra was founded in 2004 when Dholrhythms founders Vicki Virk and Suman Raj teamed up with DJ Jimmy Love with the goal of bringing Bhangra to a wider audience. The first Non Stop Bhangra was hosted to celebrate the one year anniversary of Dholrhythms by providing a dance space for students of Dholrhythms Bhangra classes. Since then, NSB has made this traditional style a serious dance floor craze in San Francisco, drawing the most diverse crowds to join in the frenzy. NSB is a destination, creating sold out nights and write-ups as one of the best dance floor nights in San Francisco.

After 7 years of full capacity shows, in 2012, the award winning production moved into one of the hottest venues in the city, Public Works. With this move comes later hours, more room to dance and late night food provided by some of the best food trucks in San Francisco. Becoming one of the ambassadors for the sound of Bhangra in the US, the vision for NSB is to expand on the experience and West Coast Bhangra to a whole new level!

In addition to the monthly event, the group has performed at some of the largest stages in the West Coast including San Francisco's renowned Stern Grove Festival, TED XSF at Yerba Buena Center For the Arts, Goldman Environmental Prize Ceremony at War Memorial Opera House, Inauguration Ceremony of Mayor Ed Lee at SF City Hall, Michael Franti's Power to the Peaceful in Golden Gate Park, New Mexico's ¡Globalquerque!, Grand Performances in Los Angeles, Pasadena's Levitt Pavilion, and Canada's Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival and many more.

DJ Matt Haze

Matt Haze is a riddle wrapped in an enigma, covered in a stylish beard. One of the most forward-thinking and current DJs in SF, Haze rubs contemporary and classic jams with a marinade of cutting edge beats and a nod to the old school. Haze is difficult to classify but impossible to resist. He best known for his work with SF's Slayers Club collective, dropping everything styles across the board from twerk and dancehall to moombahton and tropical bass, afrobeat, tech-house, R&B and more.

Shouts! Bio

Shouts! is a project by San Francisco bass music producer Jason C Apple. After many years of producing as Ground Control, Shouts! was created as an outlet for his weirder, more emotive music that nevertheless works a dance floor. Focusing on deep house and garage, more than anything, Shouts! is about trying to figure out how sound becomes a feeling.

Part of the Hot N Heavy Recordings crew, Shouts! first EP, "Do Your Thing" was released on January 23rd, 2013. He has since released his remix of Mako's "Tropicality" on Hot N Heavy, as well as a garage rework of Sirkus Sirkuz and March Against's "The Tempest" on 9G Records. Visit his Soundcloud for numerous free downloads and edits of Jessie Ware, the XX, and more.

U9lift (aka Ben maybe) grew up on a mountain top outside of Willits CA, and after moving through a series of destination locations he was lured to the bright lights of San Francisco. Rave scenes and club dreams exploded off of the dot com boom transforming the city a wonderland of musical diversity. However bright lights soon turned into dark nights as the boom went bust. The ever evolving dance scene solidified as people began to fear the instability of the unknown, many of the smaller genres died off and the larger ones strived to develop radio stations and "top seller" charts. U9lift (Ben maybe) is the resurrection of musical exploration, music that defies genre yet defines emotion. U9lift the underground, a struggle to create a new sound.
