House Music Producer / DJ,
CEO & Founder of Farris Wheel Recordings
A global ambassador of Chicago's classic house music sound, Gene Farris has spiritedly contributed to the evolving house and techno culture of this century. He started spinning vinyl- Acid House, Disco and the classic Chicago style of his peers. Inspired by Lil' Louis, Gene developed a unique sound at a young age. In the early 90's, he played the legendary underground warehouse parties in Chicago, and held a residency at the Power House, two experiences that solidified his career behind the decks. During this formative time Gene continued to DJ, holding an eight year residency at Chicago's infamous Boom Boom Room, plus a four year residency at Jimmy Woo in Amsterdam.
In 1994 Gene hit the studio with a profound sense of innovation and audio brilliance. As a self-taught engineer and producer, his work with Cajual, Relief Records, Defected Records, Soma Recordings and his own breakout label Farris Wheel Recordings, propelled his influence into ever expanding realms. More recently Gene has been spotted mixing funky beats for massive crowds at Coachella, Outside Lands and Firefly in 2013.
Gene remains a strong supporter of his roots, playing Wavefront in Chicago '12 and '13. Visitors to Chicago can catch Gene hosting the 'Le Freak' event at Soundbar, a monthly at Primary and frequenting Spy Bar. Gene works closely with fellow Chicago house legend Cajmere, AKA Green Velvet. The two have worked in collaboration on over 13 singles. The most recent, O'Darlin from the Jungle Love EP (Cajual Records) hit number one on TraxSource this year. In 2014 alone Gene has had three additional number one hits; 'Phoenix' (Guest House), 'Jackin'(Farris Wheel Recordings) and 'Along Came The Spider' (Relief Records). Continuing evidence of his insatiable ambition, talent for production and creative instincts for crafting tracks that give new life to classic samples and old school beats.
Cajual Records and Farris Wheel Recordings tenaciously release momentous tracks from artists internationally, including Gene's newest album, "Cosmos". The album features songs with Dajae, Cajmere, Sonny Fodera, and Dj Mes, which will also be out on Relief Records in June 2014.
Gene is passionate about growing Farris Wheel Recordings, producing bangers and sharing the wealth of house music with the world. Working with phenomenal producers and artists, is only developing his style and skill further. There is more to come and with the talent and vision Gene possesses the world of House music has nothing but gratitude.
Over the past year Beto Cravioto has become one of New York's premiere DJ talents, bringing his special brand of deephouse and disco to some of the best parties in the city, including his own Kaviar Disco Club nights. His mostly vinyl DJ sets are always a treat & have impressed just about everyone. For how little time he's been around, he's already shared the decks with a wide range of dj's. From Fred Falke to Tanner Ross.
All the while Beto was impressing people on the dance floor he was quietly laboring in the studio, finding his own sound. "No Social Culture" is his first actual release so it was only natural that he teamed up with Justin Strauss and studio partner Bryan Mette (Whatever / Whatever) to bring this slow disco groover to its optimum place.

South London Ordnance
Cutting his teeth on 12" singles in early 2012 for stalwarts of the UK scene, Well Rounded & 2nd Drop, South London Ordnance delivered his first full EP in September this year via Dutch tastemaker, Audio Culture. A single on Copenhagen based imprint TEAL followed - as well as a remix EP on the label, featuring productions by West Norwood Casette Library & Jared Wilson. Remixes have included work for Warp and Rinse Recordings.
Over the course of three 12" singles and one five track EP, support has come courtesy of Jamie XX, Scuba, Benji B, Mary Ann Hobbes, Mosca, Claude Vonstroke, Richie Hawtin & more - across both clubland and the airwaves. "Pacific (Well Rounded)" was picked by XLR8R as one of the top tracks of 2012, and the same publication named South London Ordnance as their No. 4 Best New Act of 2012 - alongside Disclosure, Karenn & more.
Notable shows in 2012 include Mary Anne Hobbes & XFM Presents at The Camden Crawl, Dimensions Festival, Amsterdam Dance Event and Boiler Room x The Warehouse Project in Manchester - not to mention regular appearances at Rinse FM's relentlessly forward thinking underground music event, FWD, and weekly gigs across the UK and Europe.
The 23 year old may have sought a degree of anonymity, but a year with his head above the parapet - honing skills as both a DJ and producer has paid dividends. Celebrated as one of both Beatport & Timeout UK's Artists to Watch this year - 2013 kicks off with South London Ordnance's debut outing on Scuba's Hotflush Recordings. Slated for release in early March, the EP marks the beginning of another strong year for the young artist.
Cranks is a Brooklyn-based DJ and producer. His techno-tinged tracks and foreboding yet flowing sounds can be heard in clubs throughout NYC and on his debut EP, released in July through the Safer At Night label. Cranks is gearing up for a busy year with more tunes on the horizon.
