Weber Band

No stranger to the Chicago music scene, southside native and singer/songwriter Al Weber has been writing and performing for the past seven years. After finally forming Weber Band in March 2005, the music immediately took on a different direction from the traditional latte-drenched singer/songwriter sound. Coffee cups were knocked off the tables from brother Andy Weber’s powerful keyboard hooks and the booming rhythm section of Greg Skelly (drums) and Jay Marino (bass), forcing the music into larger Chicago venues like House of Blues, Park West, Metro, Schubas, Double Door, and Martyrs. Weber Band's brand of groove-pop had arrived. 2005 saw the band showcasing at Chicago’s Mobfest and Indianapolis’ Midwest Music Summit. In early 2006, Weber Band recorded their debut self-titled EP at Gravity Studios with producer Jay Marino. It was released to a capacity crowd at Wise Fools Pub (Chicago) in August 2006. In 2008, Weber Band began performing with Cosmic Unity Horns (Eli Jones / The Right Now) and Connor Grant (Treologic) on electric guitar. With the current line-up, their high-energy live performance has peaked. Weber Band has been honored to share the stage with notable acts such as Zac Brown Band, Blind Melon, Josh Kelley, The Samples, Trevor Hall, Virginia Coalition, Pete Francis of Dispatch, Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root, Pat Dinizio of The Smithereens, and Michael McDermott.

DeXter (Chicago) is an Indie-Rock quartet featuring an electric/acoustic blend, reverberated hooks, distinct vocal harmonies, and modern guitar variations. Though band members currently hail from Chicago, DeXter as a unit has developed their sound through both rural and urban mid-western roots. With a strong focus on songwriting, DeXter showcases a significant catalog of quality original music. Songs range from melodic to sinister, loose groove rockers to rhythmic guitar-driven pop. The current line-up brings an evolved sonic punch. Combining old favorites with a stockpile of new material, the boys continue to deliver high-energy live outings to venues all over Chicago and the mid-west. The band’s 3rd studio album is now complete; a Fall 2014 release is expected for the paranoid, electric-driven “Blue Shadows”.
