The Release, a group of ambitious and energetic young musicians, is a four-piece rock band from the San Francisco Bay Area. The band’s aspirations and drive for success have pushed them to self-produce and distribute their debut album. The artistic chemistry between the four members allows them to continue to grow and develop as a band and as individuals. Each member is a vital element that completes the structure of the band.
Space Monkey Gangstas
Hailing from the East Bay (Concord, Ca), Space Monkey Gangstas (SMG) is an eclectic blend of Reggae, Rock, Ska, and a myriad of other influences into a original sound that has infectious melodies and dancable breakdowns. Since 2006, this quartet has been headlining local shows up and down the West Coast.
SMG's diverse sound has allowed them to open for national acts ranging from Reggae/Rock A-listers Rebelution, Rock and roll icon Dick Dale, and top bay area hip hop acts like Too $hort, Andre Nikatina, and The Parcyde.
In 2009, SMG released their only studio album to date "Aluminum Reggae" (2009) available in it's entirety on iTunes and Reverbnation. In it's 7th year of existence, the band released their first Music Video " I5 (Live)"(2013) filmed by Kevin Amodia of Meltin Pot Productions which has also led to a number of high quality live recordings available exclusively on Reverbnation.
Keep an eye out for new songs and live recordings from this perennial local favorite playing in bars, venues, parking lots, back yards, and really wherever people will let them play.
Hailing from the streets of San Francisco (but having lived in Milwaukee, New Orleans, and Germany), Democritus hits the mic with a flow universal to the human experience like no other. In 2009 he released his first mix tape, Our Glass, an exhibit of pure hip-hop through and through. His latest work punctuates a growing popularity and mainstream acceptance of artists who push the creative limits. Democ has his own the way of pushing the limit: possessing a flow with mass appeal along with an uplifting positive message that aims toward progression and enjoyment. Now it is time for his resurgence with his mixtape, Breakfast: The Best Meal of the Day.
