Phantogram

PHANTOGRAM is the duo comprised of Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel of Saratoga Springs, NY. They described their sound as "street beat, psych pop". According to Josh Carter, their music has "lots of rhythms, swirling guitars, spacey keyboards, echoes, airy vocals". Their name was partially inspired by an optical illusion called a phantogram, in which two-dimensional images appear to be three-dimensional. The band has released two studio albums, four EPs, and eight singles. Carter and Barthel were inspired by artists like J Dilla, Madlib, Cocteau Twins, The Flaming Lips, Sonic Youth, Yes, The Beatles, David Bowie, John Frusciante, Serge Gainsbourg, Kevin Shields and Prince.

LA synthrock band composed of singer Davis LeDuke, bassist and former Augustana member Jared Palomar, guitarist Anthony Sanudo, drummer-vocalist Lena Zawaideh, and guitarist Shaun White (snow/skate pro and Olympian.) Warner Bros. Records released their album produced by Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliot Smith, The Vines).
