Burning The Day
Burning The Day are a Canadian metal band from Toronto, Ontario. Over the last 8 years BTD have undergone a few line up changes for the better, and in 2011 the band became stronger than ever with the addition of their unrivaled lead vocalist, Cesar Silva. The rest of BTD currently consists of rhythm guitarist Matt Metcalfe, drummer Steve "The Animal"; Mitchell, lead guitarist Maxim Shelkov, and bassist Dmitri Skribans. Since the bands birth in 2005, Burning The Day have been developing and crafting their extreme sound and releasing four studio albums; In Fall She Sleeps (2006), Dawn Of Thorns (2007), Blacklisted (2009), and most recently, Metamorphosis (2013). With a handful of extensive tours across North America, they've gained a loyal following of fans that now make up the core of their expanding fan base. This has enabled the band to sell out legendary venues in their home town, performing for over a thousand screaming fans. In 2012, BTD tore up Indie Week Canada where they came out on top above 250 competing bands. This major win propelled them towards headlining shows in Indie Week Ireland 2013, followed by a two month UK tour supported by Self Made Records, Nottingham, England. Over the years, the band has shared their stages with many talented metal acts including: Bring Me The Horizon, Obey The Brave, Soilwork, Emmure, The Black Dahlia Murder, Bury Your Dead, 3 Inches Of Blood, Beneath The Massacre, Goatwhore, Ion Dissonance, Threat signal and many more. Burning The Day are making waves in the metal scene. Performing live shows, planning another European tour and writing new music are just a couple of things that will be keeping these guys busy for 2014.
Formed in 2013, SludgeHammer is on a mission to be one of the most successful metal acts to ever come out of Canada. Our four members each bring different backgrounds of playing expertise and when combined we achieve a modern sounding brand of death metal. Now playing as many shows as they can in order to gain notoriety, SludgeHammer will be name on the scene for a long time.
Toronto, Ontario based progressive-groove-metal band. The band has been together since 2008 and came together via internet postings and auditions. They began jamming, rehearsing and writing immediately as they all have previous band experiences. Shortly there after they started playing gigs including the last show ever at the Kathedral in Toronto in which they were the second last band to play! From there they recorded a "live off the floor" album in 2009 which contained 4 songs, Precious Time, Behind Closed Doors, You Don't Know & No Choice. Since then MY HOLLOW has played with bands such as The Agonist, Cryptopsy, Beneath The Massacre, Condemned,Threat Signal, The Last Felony, The Catalyst, Tiger Star, Destruction , Warbringer, Vital Remains, Kill Devil Hill and many more. In 2012 MY HOLLOW released their first Official E.P. named after the title track "COLD DARK DAYS". The E.P. featured 4 songs, Cold Dark Days, As Seams Seep Red, Kings With No Castles & Blood Seeds. In early 2013 MY HOLLOW shot their first official music video for "COLD DARK DAYS". It was finished from live footage of a "Life Celebration"; they played in honor of a good friend & fan. Shortly after, they shot and released their second official music video which was for the track "KINGS WITH NO CASTLES". MY HOLLOW will continue playing gigs and working toward a future full of metal!
In 2002 Empyrean Plagued was formed by Mike Burge and Rob Magrath. After a few lineup changes set forward to release their first album entitled "Conquering The Elements”. The album showcased the bands roots Black Metal with raw production and plenty of blast beats.
A 6 years later they hit the studio again to record their 2nd full length album called "Ancestral Embers Shall Burn", this time recruiting Kyle Tayler for bass duties. After long period of playing shows they decided to hit the studio once again to record their 3rd album "Imprint Evidence Destiny". This album show a major progression in sound from the more folk and acoustic oriented "Ancestral Embers Shall Burn" to a newer progressive/melodic sound while still keeping things plenty heavy. In 2012 two longtime members, Dave Strba(guitar) and Tyler Chartrand(drums) left the band to pursue new musical endeavors. Later that year Kyle Tayler moved from bass to guitar making room for two new members in the form of Kye Bell(bass) and Liam Ahola(drums).
In the spring of 2013 they traveled Eastern Canada and Quebec showcasing their brand of music to many places they had never played before winning over new fans as they went.
Upon completion, Dertah returned to Vanquished as E.P. began the quest for a permanent bassist. After some time they came upon their missing link, a lost spirit by the name of Unborn...
Empyrean Plague was now complete. In late 2003 they began recording for their debut full length album and set forth "Conquering the Elements". In years to come Pawn decided to leave the band and Unborn took up the guitar duties. Now the search for a new bass player was at are backs. It took patience to find a a new soul for this position but, with time it would be a reality. Keltisch came into the brood with all that could be desired and all was complete! ..
During 2008, Empyrean Plague kept busy with this line up and recorded their second full length release "Ancestral Embers Shall Burn". After hearing the songs live, Archaic North Entertainment became interested in working with the band and they entered Sardonic Moon Studios. The album was released on March 1st 2009
The band kept busy performing live shows in 2010 and in 2011 hit the studio to record their second album through Archaic North Entertainment entitled "Imprint Evidence Destiny". In 2012, a couple of long time members, Dave Strba and Tyler Chartrand left the band to pursue other things and Kyle Taylor moved from bass to guitar. Kye Bell, drummer for the band Sign of the Raven moved to bass duties and Liam Ahola took over percussion duties.
The Curse Within
The Curse Within is awesome live, combining thrash, metalcore, and straight up heavy metal utilizing heavy guitar riffs, soaring leads, powerful speedy drumming, and clean/screamed vocals. The band sites their musical influences as Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Pantera and Children Of Bodom.
Combining genres of the past and present and rooted in classic metal, The Curse Within finds a unique way to modernize the style of music that started the genre and connect with fans.
TCW's music and performance pounds out the energy while being heavy on the guitar; The band has great balance, and what they play is very intricate rhythmically and technically.
TCW has enough material for a second EP which the band may make a push for a late spring/early summer release. There is plenty of interest surrounding our band at this time and it continues to grow.
