Since their last studio release, the band has been far from quiet. In addition to their regular US headline shows, parades and community projects, they have played support slots for the likes of Mos Def, Lauryn Hill and Mary J Blige - and also embarked on successful international tours, playing Glastonbury festival and more. They were featured in Spike Lee's documentary When the Creek Don't Rise (the follow up to When the Levees Broke which Hot 8 also featured in) and most recently, HBO included a piece on their story in the acclaimed Treme TV series.
Sean Glass has the best calves in New York. Fo real. He keeps them in such good shape not by exercising in the traditional ways (although he was a two sport college athlete--in art school), but by DJing, like, all the time. Sean's well known for not only being resident and programmer at all the fancy pants joints like Top of the Standard (Boom Boom Room) and Soho House, but also the best Disco House weekly around--GBH's Vibrations (previous guests Treasure Fingers, The Rapture, Alan Braxe, Fake Blood, Viceroy, Oliver...).
Sean, affectionately known by homies as SG, is a multi-disciplinary in the music industry, having worked A&R and Marketing at Universal/Republic Records, Epic Records, Nervous Records, Cornerstone/Fader Mag and more. He's equally comfortable in a Madison Avenue board room negotiating contracts as he is in a Bushwick warehouse playing for 3000 ravers.
SG's newest ventures are Win Records, a new Dance label partnering with Glassnote Records (Mumford & Sons, Phoenix, Two Door Cinema Club, Childish Gambino) and Sony RED Distribution. His first signings are Flight Facilities, Jesse Marco and Viceroy, with many more to come. Additionally, Oct 31 will see the launch of DJZ.com, a new "MTV for DJs" that SG co-founded with Seth Goldstein of Turntable.fm
