Mike Doughty's World-Renowned, Award-Winning Question Jar Show
500 N. Market St.
Wilmington, DE, 19801
This event is all ages
Mike Doughty contains multitudes: Singer. Songwriter. Guitar player. Poet. Author. Playwright. Photographer. Most Improved Camper, West Point Youth Camp, 1982. He's released five solo albums, some EPs, a couple of live albums, a bunch of EDM tracks and remixes, a poetry book, and a memoir about that time he was in a band called Soul Coughing and didn't like it and took a lot of drugs. He most recently released an album of covers in the fall of 2012, wherein he played songs by John Denver, Cheap Trick, and Stephen Sondheim.
During this show, Doughty will pick audience questions and requests out of a jar -- and his audience is wickedly good at coming up with extremely weird things to ask.
Hailing from South Jersey, Matt Duke has explored multiple musical genres on each of his records, as well as toured the dankest hole-in-the-walls to the grandest, brightest stages over the course of his ten year career. Aside from writing and recording, Duke works closely with non-profits Music is Love Exchange and Musicians On Call, bringing music to places as remote as the highlands of Guatemala to the bedsides of hospital patients in Philadelphia, PA. He enjoys birds and discounted items, but does not care for crisp wind. Are you still reading this? He's set to release a new, full-length album in March of 2014.
