Spanning 4 Four Tet studio albums, remixing, and outstanding live shows amongst many other things, Kieran Hebden's career remains rooted in all kinds of musical camps. In the past couple of years Four Tet has released his fourth album "Everything Ecstatic", a DVD of music videos working with directors/artists such as Woof Wan Bau and Jason Evans, a DJ Kicks compilation as part of K7's legendary series, a compilation of his remix work, and has toured the UK, Europe, US and Japan extensively.
His work with legendary jazz drummer Steve Reid during this period has been a significant milestone in Hebden's career – what began as a handful of live collaborations (early shows in London and Paris in 2005 gave a glimpse of the great things to come), soon developed into something on a far grander scale. The fruits of a profound artistic connection that has produced 3 critically acclaimed albums for Domino records. Four Tet's remixing skills remain fully flexed in recent months having already produced a number of remixes for artists such as Explosions in the Sky, Thom Yorke and Steve Reich.
Natasha Kmeto (Live)
Natasha Kmeto (pronounced "kuh-meh-toe") is an electro hip-hop, singer-producer based in Portland, OR. With a rich musical background in jazz, r&b, electronic and hip-hop she likes to describe her music as "futuristic soul."
Kmeto was born and raised in California, playing and touring with bands of all genres since the age of 15. She completed the Keyboard Performance program at Musician's Institute in Hollywood and soon thereafter relocated to Portland in 2007. The move helped rekindle Natasha's creativity and passion for music which got lost in the bustle and industry of LA. Here, Kmeto was able to explore and take inspiration from her biggest influences, ranging from the cutting edge sounds of Flying Lotus to the classic soul hits of Carole King. As the Portland Mercury writes, "Kmeto's found a trance-ready spot that tugs at the sleeves of hip hop, IDM, and maybe even a tinge of goth, with a singing voice that keeps the digital zeroes and ones imbued with flesh and blood." -Ned Lannamann, The Portland Mercury, April '10
Kmeto released her debut EP, "9′′ and supplemental remix EP "√9′′ in 2009 and began playing live regionally in early 2010.
Currently, Natasha is set to release her first full-length album, "Expressor", which finds Kmeto delving further into experimental electronic music while staying rooted in hip-hop and R&B. "Expressor" shows a marked progression in Kmeto's production and songwriting.
Natasha is currently at work on her next release and continues to tour. She has started off the new year with bang, playing such events and venues as Low End Theory, Flux and The Roseland Theater while sharing the stage with such artists as Morcheeba, Meat Beat Manifesto, Daddy Kev, Nobody, Gaslamp Killer, D-Styles, Baths, Shlohmo, Shigeto and Austin Peralta.
DJ and producer Noah Bennett aka "Dials." DJ Dials has been djing for over 14 years – in almost every aspect of DJING from playing in weird other countries to celebrity weddings, barmitzvahs, and clubs of all different shapes and sizes. He has been writing and producing music with his first 12' record released on Brownswood Electr*c Volume 2- Giles Peterson's Brownswood Recordings. He's created hundreds of beats that will never see the light of day, mostly downtempo and the occasionally syrup dripped rap jawn. He tries to challenge the audience and have a fun time doing it… He's played alongside Modeselektor, Four Tet, Madlib, Edit, The Roots, Daedalus, Flying Lotus, Lorn, Lazer Sword, Hudson Mohawke, Jakes, EOTO, Mimosa, and Eskmo. He love good music and loves good people. He wouldn't be doing what he does if it weren't for those two simple facts. Follow your bliss.
Sleazemore's personality in American electro culture is big and hugelike the ocean is deep. The ever-ready party machine has been known called the antithesis of many bad decisions. His party in San Francisco, Light's Down Low (nominated for best club in SF '08 music awards), is an essential spot, acting as a minor league for artists who shortly after become major players, and has recently become intenational with the opening of Lights Down Low Amsterdam and Lights Down Low France to much acclaim. Sleazemore's graphic design is not only in demand, but has been one of the most influential of today's electro scene. His track selection is consistently solid he's been known to mix the hottest track of the minute with the hottest track of tomorrows when it's not even 5 hours old. He's shared the stage with the likes of Simian Mobile Disco, Green Velvet, Justice and the Ed Banger Crew, MSTRKRFT, Boys Noize, Laidback Luke, Jesse Rose, Miss Kittin, Tiefschwarz, Kid Cudi, Felix Da Housecat, Major Lazer, Matthew Dear, the Sounds, Sinden, Crookers, A-trak, Trevor Loveys, Dj Craze, The Glimmers, Tim Sweeney,The Jaun Maclean, Tommie Sunshine and countless others and has played everywhere from NYC to Berlin to Mexico City to Paris.
