The Front Bottoms

With the finish line of their very first US national headline tour in sight, THE FRONT BOTTOMS debut their new video for "Funny You Should Ask" off of their critically-acclaimed new albumTalon of the Hawk. SPIN premiered the video earlier this week. After wrapping up their US dates with a headline show at the iconic Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ, the band will head overseas for a Fall headline tour throughout Europe then hit the ground running on Canadian soil for a handful of headline shows.

"This was the first time Brian held a snake," exclaims drummer Mat Uychich, which might give you an idea of their all-star cast. To maintain their quirkiness, the video starts off with a tarantula crawlingup a guitar neck followed by numerous cameos by an alligator, a turtle, dog and multiple snakes. From Atlanta, GA, the WILD are a bunch of friends who love playing music and sharing in the DIY philosophy of music, art, and politics. This is what The WILD has to say about themselves...

'We are five friends having a great time playing music together... We all feel the best when we are traveling together and getting to see old friends, making new ones, jumping off of high things into water, and playing music every night. right now everybody lives all over the country.... We're from Atlanta, Lexington, Denver, Brooklyn, and Massachusetts... We write songs that are political and personal.'

What pine magazine had to say about the WILD:

'The celebratory storytelling and punk-folksy delivery of this four-piece makes you wonder how such clean guitars could get your body shaking so hard. The Wild are a lot of fun, and their approach, defiant in a Bob Dylan sort of way, should give kids everywhere the feeling that they can make a difference in the world, no matter how bad things get in the interim.'

Split by You Blew It! / Fake Problems

You Blew It! might be one of the last great hold-outs in the emo revival that took over the last decade. More sane than Algernon Cadwallader, less sonically-spacious than Cap'n Jazz, YBI! cherrypicks from 90's emo and indie in a fashion that many have aimed for but few have achieved. These cat-loving, taco-eating dudes have been holding it down in their native Orlando scene since February 2009. Since then, they've had enough lineup changes to see something like twelve members come and go all while completing four out-of-state tours and a few notable gigs with The Get Up Kids. They have two releases under their belts, including a self-released, self-titled EP in 2009 and The Past In Present EP in the following year (Good Friends Records). Their upcoming full-length, Grow Up, Dude, will be released in April 2012.
