John & Brittany
JOHN & BRITTANY are a songwriting duo hailing from Philadelphia, PA, comprised of guitarists John Faye and Brittany Rotondo. Faye, the frontman of IKE, one of the city's best-known rock bands, met Rotondo in late December of 2008. The two struck up an immediate musical kinship, with a mutual love of the Beatles and the Ramones, and within a couple months the pair were writing songs together, one of which ("Last Act") would end up on IKE's latest release "Tie The Knot With All That You Got." Never having performed live or seriously played an instrument before, Rotondo received her first guitar in June of 2009 and by December was performing "Last Act" onstage with IKE at their sold out album release show at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia.
In 2010, Faye and Rotondo hit their creative stride with a string of memorable, quirky songs.. snapshots of damaged nicotine addicts, angry middle managers, and close encounters with whiskey-swilling devils. Anchored by Rotondo's simultaneously blunt and poetic lyricism and elevated by Faye's knack for creating unforgettable melodies, John & Brittany's music is a true partnership of youth and experience, order and chaos, escape and reality. In addition to their duo performances, John & Brittany have also started working with a full band, featuring Jay Miraglia on drums and Mike Vivas on bass. The group released their first single "Devil's Allure" in December of 2010 and plans to record their debut EP in early 2011.
Formed in May 2011, Kid Felix has already made an impression on the Philadelphia music scene. The six-piece rock band from Laurel Springs, New Jersey takes cues from bands such as Brand New, Kings of Leon and Manchester Orchestra, while producing a musical style and sound experience that is unmistakeably Kid Felix. Consisting of Jake Falana (vocals), John Ambrutis (lead guitar), Brett Hagen (guitar), Julian Ungerer (bass), Ken Baxter (keyboards), and John Szachewicz (drums). The band is on the heels of its first official EP, and with it's release, they hope to begin touring to reach new audiences while maintaining continued success among fans in the Philly area who gave them their start.
Jeff’s onstage experiences have taken him to coast to coast countless times and have found him have found him sharing the stage with John Mayer, members of Counting Crows, Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead, opening for multiplatinum selling, multi-Grammy-winning band Train and performing on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show. Recently selected as the winner of Guitar Center's National Singer Songwriter 2 Competition out of over 13,000 entrants, Jeff Campbell released "In Spite of Everything", a 5 song EP produced by 6 time Grammy Winning Producer John Shanks, in late 2013. On the In Spite of Everything EP, Michael Canter of Jivewired.com said, "...not since Elliot Smith have I heard similar music sound this accomplished. His wistful and soulful vocals make this album immediate and relevant". Chuck Dauphin of Music News Nashville said Jeff's 2012 release 'Stop and Go' is "...an album that will leave you wanting more". A Philadelphia native, Campbell moved to San Francisco in 2004 specifically for the newer Rock scene he had heard was developing. After a few years of trying to balance learning the West Coast Music Scene with his day job, the job was cast aside in favor of full time touring, writing and recording for a living. Jeff has been touring the US to support his releases since the fall of 2010. He will continue to do so throughout 2012 and beyond and will not stop until his piece of history is defined. He has played hundreds of shows in dozens of cities and continues to build a loyal following through live performances with personality everywhere he goes.
Megan has already sold over 35,000 copies of her four previous independently released CDs. Her last CD, A Token Of The Wreckage, is "an edgy alt-rock release that is a breath of fresh air" (Maverick Magazine), “gleaming, grooving, and gritty” (Minor 7th), with "thoughtful construction and clever wordplay" (Performer Magazine). That release, which was recorded with help from David Bryson (Counting Crows) and Jerry Becker (Train), held a spot in the 10 Best-Selling Albums on CD Baby for weeks. Her songs have also won several awards: in 2013 alone, she was a finalist in the UK Songwriting Contest, a finalist in the International Songwriting Contest (ISC), and a finalist in the Show Me the Music Contest. She was also a finalist for Best Female Artist in the International Acoustic Music Awards (IAMA). Touring does not take a back seat to Megan’s love of writing, recording, and performing. She has toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe–tens of thousands of miles–having performed in every U.S. state but seven. She gathered many adventures along the way, as indie artists do: rental cars breaking down in the wee hours in a rough neighborhood in Atlanta, being surrounded by a gang in a parking lot in Denver after a show, lost luggage and a trip to WalMart for performance essentials. On better days, she opened for Jamie Cullum at a sold-out Fillmore, played electric guitar on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live as part of the Jeff Campbell Band, belted the National Anthem to a crowd of 45,000 Giants baseball fans, sang duets with Pat Monahan of Train, and toured with Dire Straits co-founder David Knopfler–even co-writing the title track to his album Ship of Dreams. Megan is touring her brand new album, ‘Running on Machinery’ this Spring and Summer.
In 2015, San Francisco artist/producer Scott Mickelson will celebrate the release of his first self-titled CD Flickering. After leading the critically acclaimed band Fat Opie for five records he is striking out on his own. Mickelson continues to paint both musical and lyrical portraits of contemporary life as an American. Dan Coyle has been touring and making music since 2008. His latest output, a 6-song EP entitled Perfect Word. Perfect Beat. is an especially dynamic record, at once both delicate and exuberant. Dan has performed in major festivals such as The Folk Alliance and has appeared on NBC Live, The ABC Morning Show, and Balcony TV (Germany). The two have teamed up as a powerhouse duo for recent tours, to rave reviews. (“These guys are the shit” -Jeff Campbell).
Paige Allbritton was born into a family of musicians and artists, and was inundated with incredible music from the day she was born, from Classic Country, Rock & Roll and Bluegrass, to Gospel, R&B and pop. Paige’s heartfelt lyrics and simple guitar rhythms settle perfectly between the nostalgia of acoustic country and folk, and the heart of blues and rock music. All of that, paired with a soulful voice that can lull a drunken crowd and a genuine, lighthearted, girl-next-door personality, she is bound to capture the attention of many.
