From his roots in the drum and bass movement, to the formation of his label Hollowpoint Records in 2009, and now with the emergence of his trademark forward-thinking “Balearic Bass” sound, SMOG Records artist SPL stands poised to continue striking blows into the hearts and minds of electronic dance music veterans and initiates alike.
Sam Pool spent his early years in Oregon, studying music theory, piano, and drums -- skills he would refine during a year abroad in Amsterdam, where he studied audio engineering. His cutting-edge fusion of styles balances equal parts reverence for musical history with restlessness for innovation. Releases in the 2000s on revered D&B labels Barcode, Tech Itch, and Evol Intent set the stage for a switch in 2008 to dubstep, a move that was immediately supported by releases through industry giants Sub Human, Rottun, and Amorphous Music. No stranger to the upper echelons of the bass music universe, SPL has been remixed by some of the biggest names in the game: Bro Safari, UZ, Big Gigantic, and The Panacea. His remixes for the likes of Bassnectar, The Glitch Mob, Downlink, and Dieselboy exhibit his diverse approach in production styles and genres.
Combining arpeggio-heavy 90's era rave elements with his own brand of heavy bass music, SPL's 'Balearic Bass' EP forthcoming on SMOG September 3, 2013, showcases this virtuoso producer at his best. With over 100,000 Soundcloud plays in the month of July alone on his genre-bending, dance-floor leveling track “The Future,” a BBC Radio One mix comprised of 100% original music, ThisSongIsSick.com’s premiere of his Balearic Bootleg series, and instant support on the 'Balearic Bass' EP from UK tastemakers Skream, Benga, and UKF, the world at large is set to discover something the underground has known all along: that SPL has been, is now, and forever shall be a leader in the world of heavy bass music.
Austin, TX own RUN DMT's sound is a reflection of a torrid love affair with heavy basslines, thunderous beats, and haunting melodies. Forming in the summer of 2010, RUN DMT decided to take the approach of no-holds-barred heavy bass music without borders, touching on Dubstep, Drumstep, Moombahton, UK Funky, atmospheric Downtempo and more. In its short 1.5 year of history it has made high profile appearances at Camp Bisco, Nocturnal Festival, Bass Invasion, and Snowglobe Music Festival. Its original productions and remixes have become recent playlist staples for DJs ranging from Bassnectar to MSTRKRFT to Craze to 12th Planet and beyond.
RUN DMT's first official release on Play Me Records shot straight to the TOP TEN on Beatport with "Drop Top" hitting #2 on the Drum & Bass Charts, and "Bro 2.0" hitting #3 on the Dubstep Charts. RUN DMT has released tracks on JFK's Teenage Riot Records, Evol Intent, T&A and Heavy Artillery, and are featured on the soundtrack for the video game, "Mortal Kombat" (2011).RUN DMT has also remixed for the likes of Bird Peterson, Asking Alexandria, and Figure. The debut full length album "Union of Opposites" to be released in June 2012 on Play Me Records worldwide and will feature the likes of Chali 2na, Dj Swamp, and more.
RUN DMT's first mixtape was released late December 2011 exclusively thru Mad Decent: http://maddecent.com/blog/run-dmt-year-of-the-white-rabbit-mix
When Plunkie plugs his brainwaves into the stereo, anticipate the speakers and room to be filled beyond the brim with a lively effervescent painting of blindingly bright color palettes pouring down the walls, crashing into each other, and creating a vision for you.
Plunkie, who has been a DJ/Producer for nearly a decade has been crushing and mixing some of the most delicious sounds in the scene, has transformed into his own in recent years, producing a rare but dynamic style gaining traction in the
underground & that appears to be shifting the movement towards a new notch on the EDM belt. In 2012 alone, he shared the stage with some largely respected names in the industry, such as Figure, Calvertron, Griz, Herobust, KOAN sound, Vaski, & Dieselboy, just to name a few.
Grinding his way to the top, Ryan Plunkett or Plunkie, wants to create something positive and uplifting that does nothing short of getting the party poppin'! If you've ever witnessed him live you'll definitely agree, he's somehow found and harnessed this intense vim & vigor energy that he funnels into his sets, 151 proof, speaking to the crowd through his music, igniting the room into a radiant frenzy, sending everyone home glowing. If you've yet to experience a show, it's most definitely one to not miss in the future.

TRINKETZ aka Devin Gorman, is an up and coming Dj/Producer out of Peoria, IL. This places him in the perfect location to contribute to the growth of the Mid West’s Bass Music scene. His love for music combined with technological skills acquired through majoring in Graphic Design has brought him to become one of Peoria’s most well-known performers, as the scene continues to explode. His combination of experimentally heavy bass, dark psychedelic sound allows him to destroy dance floors with an energetically explosive performance.
In 2010, Trinketz was signed to Killinoize Productions out of Springfield, IL. Since then he has shared the stage with some HUGE artists from all over the country such as: Vibesquad, Figure, Hulk, Splatinum, Love&Light, Grimblee, Tankman, Spankalicous, and many more.. In October, 2011 he was announced as the new host of Wobble Wednesday’s @ Cam’s Place, giving him the opportunity to bring special guests from all over the country each week to perform @ central Illinois biggest dubstep weekly.
In 2012 Devin teamed up with Toy Maker Productions. Keep your eyes peeled for TRINKETZ touring all over the midwest this year.
