Live at the Amsterdam: Late Nite Noise Nite!

We Want the Airwaves! (a Ramones tribute)

A complete supergroup made up of Nicole Gerber (ex- Selby Tigers, Lefty Lucy and currently Kiss or Kill) on bass, Leon Peters (Ironbar) on vocals, Charles Gehr (Pink Mink, Seawhores, Ouija Radio, Marijuana Death Squad, Har Mar Superstar and much much more) on drums and Scott Frisch (Things Fall Apart, Sevenonefive, Watershed Year) on guitar. They all sat down and constructed quite a long set list that spans through the entire Ramones catalog that include the hits and 'deep cuts' that most people might not have heard or had forgotten. A sort of Ramones Preservation Society if you will. And to this day they are miffed and dumbfounded at how almost all the Ramones have passed away and somehow everyone from Aerosmith is still alive. What a cruel, f*cked up world.

Animal Lover

Animal Lover is made up of guitarist-vocalist Addison Shark, drummer Nate Fisher, and bassist Evan Bullinger. If the power trio’s name strikes you as unfamiliar, perhaps their respective predecessors will stir your memory. Shark and Fisher are alumni of Gumbi, the heavy punk outfit while Bullinger is a former guitarist for the underground metal group, Høst. Both bands hailed from the Fargo/Moorhead area. The Animal Lover sound is a bit difficult to encapsulate, even for Shark. “I’ve never had an easy time describing our sound,” he says. “I guess that’s up to someone else to decide.” If the tracks available at their Myspace page offer any assistance, it smacks of bass-heavy noise-punk that pushes and plods with relative consistency.

Ex Nuns

“...the sheer power of Ex Nuns stands out, particularly the relentless snare shots and bass lines that seem hell-bent on tearing everything apart. But the songs take time to develop. The spiraling guitars often bleed into more expansive territory, and deep beneath the feedback, there are some distinct, almost poppy, melodies. Ex Nuns play fast, furious noise-rock that cuts away as much fat as possible and channels everything into raw energy.” - Jeff Gage, Gimme Noise Blog
