Join us on Saturday, November 19 for the highly anticipated release of Phoenix Afrobeat Orchestra's debut recorded effort: PAO! This highly-charged event will include performances by PAO, Harriet Brown, Vox Urbana and Mariachi de Grand Avenue... supplemented by the world beat records of PAO resident djs Mitch Freedom, Quezo Mann!

PAO, or Phoenix Afrobeat Orchestra, is committed to the global unification of all peoples through creativity, collaboration and celebration.

Founded somewhere in the 2010s by David Marquez, the Phoenix Afrobeat Orchestra, fronted by Camille Sledge, has grown into a diverse collective of musicians and artists representing over thirty Arizona acts from a variety of styles.

From clubs to concert halls, picnics to premiers, PAO is committed to playing social music, using one of the funkiest art forms on the planet. Come out and dance with us sometime!

Together, the debut full-length album from Phoenix-based three piece Factories, brings a new take on electronic pop music. Many of the endearing qualities one would come to expect from the genre - catchy hooks, danceable beats, sweet harmonies - are there, but Together also brings decid- edly more hypnotic, visceral, and deeply affecting elements into play. Esoteric electronic beats provide the backbone for soaring guitars, crashing keyboards, and intense lyrical con- tent; all perfectly formed into beautifully organic and tightly knit soundscapes that exist somewhere between Phil Spector and Shoegaze. Ear candy abounds, as do comparisons to the Handsome Furs, Phantogram, Postal Service, the Raveonettes, and Mates of State.

/// After the successful release of their self-produced EP in late 2010, Factories spent 2011 distinguishing themselves as one of the most prolific and successful live bands in Phoenix, playing with Youth Lagoon, Young Magic, Braids, Painted Palms, Crystal Stilts, Purity Ring, El Ten Eleven, Gardens and Villa, An Horse, and many more. All the while, they have continued to work on recorded material, to include Together, a single of "Canada," and a series of music videos (due out in the first quarter of 2012).
