Based in San Antonio, Sol Tribe creates a fusion of Reggae and World music blending a heavy drum and bass driven sound with melodic keyboards, conga, and guitar infused with rich vocal textures.
The experienced musicians of Sol Tribe draw on spiritual and musical themes from the Caribbean, South America and other continents to give their songs a steady and percussive feel, while the lyrics of lead vocalist Anthony Berdecio lend an urban, street-smart element.
Ugly Lion is a 5 piece progressive reggae band from Dallas, Texas. Since it's inception in 2009 the band has created a massive following in the region through live performance and extensive self-promotion, the bandreleased their first EP, "The Ugly Truth" in July 2009.
Following the release, the band embarked on several tours building a southern and mid west fan base in a few short months. This hard work caught the attention of a local filmmaker, eventually leading to Ugly Lion starring in a commercial for a local bar and grill.
Realizing their growing popularity, the banddedicated themselves to booking, promoting, andfunding their endeavor, including creating the opportunity to share the stage with many of the most popular reggae acts in the world today. including national and international acts such as SOJA,THE ORIGINAL WAILERS, COLLIE BUDDZ, TRIBAL SEEDS, CAS HALEY, THE MOVEMENT, and many others.
Having gained local respect and popularity, theband went on to professionally record and releasetheir second EP "Roots of Revolution" in January 2010 and releasing their first full production music video "worriers". Ugly Lion is currently touring the country in support of that release, quickly building a following in every city they hit. Energized by the widespread positive reception of their message, the band is heading back to the studio to record the follow-up to "Roots of Revolution". Ugly lion continues to move forwardwriting, recording, and touring spreading a conscious message through reggae music.
