Watch & Listen
Louisiana’s own dark star and Orpheus of the underground, Dax Riggs – the fool in your tarot deck – trippin’ over his own tombstone, reaching into the atmosphere and pulling spirits from the air. An alchemy of all roots music, doom metal and glam-punk poetry. It sounds like voodoo, feels like redemption and puts off heat like a burning oil rig. In the service of tears and the ghost of all sorrows…say goodnight to the world.
Ex-deadboy and the Elephantmen and ex-Acid Bath’s Dax Riggs released his sophomore solo album Say Goodnight To The World on Fat Possum Records. Recorded over two weeks in his home insane asylum with dancing boys of Austin, TX, Charley Siess (drums) and Kevin Fitzsimmons (bass); co-produced with multi-instrumentalist Robbie Lee (Howling Hex, Baby Dee); and mixed with Eric Wofford (Black Angels, Bill Callahan).
Burn Blue Sky
Burn Blue Sky has officially been destroying the Ohio landscape and surrounding territory with loud rock n roll for over 10 years. Now with the release of their second album "Celebrate The Decline" they are ready to keep the ears of the local music venue patron ringing for years to come. There are plans for spreading the word via the rock n roll stage in 2011 with multiple show dates and
radio appearances. And hopefully, if the stars align, this band will spread beyond the rust belt.......
Mike Lenz performs solo on guitar, vocals, harmonica, and amplified stompbox. He is influenced by everything from Delta and Piedmont blues artists such as Robert Johnson, Blind Willie Johnson, Blind Blake and Blind Boy Fuller to Jug Band stomps and rags of the 20’s and 30’s to classic 50’s and 60’s electric Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, Sonny Boy Williamson and Howlin’ Wolf to the raw juke joint boogies of Hound Dog Taylor and modern North Mississippi blues. His live show includes his originals, classic blues and bit of old country, rock, and just about every genre of American music. He also performs regularly with The Mike Lenz Band, featuring Jason Edwards on drums and Dennis Meyers on bass.
