Devour the Day
Formed in 2012, DEVOUR THE DAY is born from the brain trust of Joey Chicago (Bass, Vocals, Songwriter) and Blake Allison (Lead singer, Guitar, Songwriter and Producer). Having much success with the band Egypt Central, Blake and Joey sought to break out on their own, writing and producing music without compromise.
Joey explains, "Our lives got to a point that we had lost trust, we lost our
compassion, feeling and our way." The water was so murky we didn't know which way was up." What we did know is that we should keep writing and keep fighting because that was the truth and our center."
What transpired is a new album scheduled for release May 7, 2013.
Painting a picture in listeners imagination is what this songwriting duo does best. Joey continues, "While our songs are very personal to our experiences we are very aware to keep it open for interpretation. There is nothing more gratifying when a fan explains how our songs help them in their lives. It's humbling."
Giving perspective Blake states, "the process of writing this record is something totally different than what we had done before. The pressure was enormous and we felt that every decision we made needed to be perfect. There was no room for mistakes. We needed to make choices that were sometimes very difficult but once made it felt like the weight we had been carrying got lighter brick by brick."
Look for DEVOUR THE DAY to hit the road in early 2013 in support of their new album.
Throw the Fight
Bullet Tooth Records is proud to announce the worldwide signing of Minneapolis Minnesota's, Throw The Fight. For the past three decades, Minneapolis has had it's finger on the pulse of the musical world. There's something about the Northern Midwest crowds that demand passion and energy from their musical acts. Throw The Fight continues that tradition, bringing an authentic display of metal-edged, hard rock. It's the kind of energy one hears on the band's newest album, the John Feldmann (Atreyu, The Used) produced, "What Doesn't Kill Us."
Recorded during a three week stretch in Feldmann's own L. A. studio, the record runs the gamut, stretching across metal and alternative, to just plain-old, white-knuckled rock 'n' roll. Serving to example is the blinding intensity behind tracks like "One Step Away," "Lifesaver" and "Lights Out For Summer," which are imbued with soulful, intelligent songwriting to accompany TTF's brand of angst-ridden fervor.
The first single off the record, "Not So Hollywood," has already begun to pick up steam at radio stations across the country. The first being KXXR in Minneapolis which immediately added the track to full rotation. Since then, others are beginning to follow suit.
"Rock and roll is everything . . . To us, there's nothing else," proclaims guitarist Ryan Baustert. It's that same all-in, do-it-yourself attitude that pours from TTF's essence; an ever-present force that drives exceptional live performance, fantastic studio work, and an ineffable mass appeal. Throw The Fight has the "X factor" shared by successful acts like Killswitch Engage, Story of the Year, and Rise Against and the band's onstage force has already been seen nationally on festivals such as The Van's Warped Tour & Taste of Chaos, as well as with acts such as Avenged Sevenfold, Papa Roach, Sevendust, Drowning Pool, and Buckcherry, among others.
Members James Clark (vocals), Ryan Baustert (guitar), Jonathan Sutton (guitar/back-up vocals), Kyle Glidden (bass/back-up vocals), and Jeff Baustert (drums) are headed somewhere fast and "What Doesn't Kill Us" is a standing testament to the band's resilience.
Hailing their roots from rural Iowa since 2006, Fatal Addiction has become a common household name and a must see powerhouse for rock music in the Midwest. From small bars and venues to large festivals, Fatal Addiction has shared the stage with such acts as; Alice In Chains, Papa Roach, Sick Puppies, Sevendust, Candlebox, 10 Years and Buckcherry. In April of 2013 they won the largest statewide battle of the bands, which was put on by the coveted radio station LAZER 103.3, based out of Des Moines, IA. Their most recent album, entitled “Undertow” was released in June of 2013 is available on Itunes, numerous satellite radio stations and Amazon. Their high energy stage presence and unfiltered genuine sound has fueled this new rock rebellion from the muddy banks of the Des Moines River.
