2014 Country Life Music Festival - Friday Pass

Country Life Music Festival is one of Central Illinois' largest country music festivals for 2014 - with today's top country music artists, camping options, and more!

Hank Williams Jr.

In October 1982, Williams had nine albums on the Billboard music charts at the same time, a feat unequaled by any other living artist. Hank has received 16 songwriting honors from Broadcast Music, Inc., had 10 #1 singles, 13 #1 albums, 20 gold and five platinum albums and a double platinum (Greatest Hits, Vol. I). In 1987, Hank won the first of five straight Entertainer of the Year awards voted to him by his peers, and won his first ever Grammy. As a touring artist, Hank was a pioneer in bringing arena rock production values to country music, and he remains one of the most consistent ticket sellers in music, period, as generation after generation gets turned on to one of the most dynamic live performers ever to take the stage.

“I’ve been a very lucky man,” he’s fond of saying, but Hank, Jr. has made his own luck, and made his own way. Given a chance to coast on his father’s songs and his father’s royalties, he found a new song to sing, and a new way to sing it.

Montgomery Gentry

Montgomery Gentry's journey into the front ranks of American music has been one of the most gratifying sagas of the past decade. Their road to gold and platinum albums, CMA and ACM awards, a Grammy nomination and highly successful tours has been paved both with musical integrity and with an abiding respect for the people and the genre they represent.

Seldom have entertainers been identified so closely with their fans, and seldom has the respect and affection run so deep in both directions. They share blue-collar outlooks; sunup-to-sundown work ethics; rootedness in God, country and family; and the ability to celebrate life and endure hardship. It is a relationship few other artists in the often volatile world of show business can boast.

In 2005, singer Kellie Pickler landed a spot in the fifth season of American Idol. Though she finished sixth, the former waitress and Miss North Carolina contestant charmed American audiences with her Southern twang and blonde ambition, resulting in a contract with BNA Records that yielded her debut album, Small Town Girl, in the fall of 2006 and an eponymous sophomore release in 2008.

Josh Thompson

With a growing list of hits to his credit, Show Dog Universal recording artist Josh Thompson has defined his place in country music with the simple formula of being who he is: the embodiment of whatever-it-takes, hard-working, blue-collar grit. From his songwriting that ran throughout his Top 10 debut album, Way Out Here, to the dynamic live shows that have earned him opening slots for such established headliners as Dierks Bentley and CMA Entertainer of the Year winner Brad Paisley, Josh Thompson's passionate performances and tireless work ethic have made him the epitome of the musical road warrior, playing nearly 250 shows in 2010 alone.

His debut album, Way Out Here, established Josh as a formidable young talent, launching a trio of hits including "Won't Be Lonely Long"; the Top 15 title track "Way Out Here"; and the Top 10 first single, "Beer on the Table."

Josh comes by his music's heartland, blue-collar work & party themes with an everyman's insight of an everyman who's been there. Born in Milwaukee and raised in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, Thompson was working alongside his father in the concrete business at the age of 12, and the trade was often how Josh was paying the bills well into his twenties as his focus shifted to music.

Chris Weaver Band

Chris Weaver was born to perform. Mixing a perfect blend of southern rock, soul and country blues, Chris and his band are inspiring crowds all around the world on the heels of releasing their sophomore CD, AMERICAN DREAMER. Attending a Chris Weaver performance is a spiritual experience you don’t want to miss!
