Runnin’ Late, a six piece Wilmington band that has dazzled music fans at Delaware’s top music venues since 2007, will bring a mix of favorite holiday tunes and original songs to World Cafe Live at the Queen December 13th. “We’ve been mixing originals with cover material at live performances since the beginning” explains lead singer/songwriter George Zlupko.” Runnin’ Late’s blend of classic rock with shades of blues and jazz is as evident in their own music as their covers. Unlike many bands whose creative energy is closely tied to a single member, Runnin’ Late originals were written by four of the six members and a heavy dose of input from the other two.
“Drummer/producer Steve Breske could almost be credited as a co-writer to many of my songs and Kevin Brace’s Coltrain-esque whaling sax has become a signature of our originals” reveals bass player/song writer Mark Samworth. Check out Runnin’ Late at The Queen and hear their special blend of classic rock with shades of blues and jazz that has made their cover performances so memorable translate equally well in their original music.
