CRYPTICAL with special guest Stu Allen

CRYPTICAL with special guest Stu Allen

Featuring five accomplished musicians performing the music immortalized by the Grateful Dead, CRYPTICAL offers their audiences the next best thing to a Dead show!

CRYPTICAL is not really a copy or cover band, but an ensemble that has the ability to paint using a wide palette of music. The band uses the music of the Grateful Dead as a springboard to exercise "describing the indescribable" by seamlessly blending danceable music genres including rock, jazz, country and more.

Special Guest lead guitarist Stu Allen is widely recognized as one of the top Jerry Garcia “channelers” around. He previously held the lead guitar spot in JGB – Garcia’s keyboardist Melvin Seals' tribute to the Jerry Garcia Band -- for more than half a decade.

Melvin states, "Stu has grown into his own...It's really scary what I see him do on stage and what I hear. Even when I close my own eyes for a moment and I'm not looking at anybody, where my mind goes is remembering being on stage with Jerry (Garcia), and it's really spooky at times."

Grateful Dead founding members (and current members of Furthur) Phil Lesh and Bob Weir turn to Stu to cover the Jerry slot in their San Francisco Bay Area shows, and CRYPTICAL is excited to be offering a celebrated Grateful Dead tribute featuring one of the most acclaimed tribute guitarists on the scene.
