Reverent as it is prophetic and stark, King Dude has previously shared his spiritual visions with releases on Dais, Avant!, Bathetic, Clan Destine, and Ván records. Pulling together the biblical sound and isolation of the bygone days of revelation with an atmosphere filled with hope and salvation, King Dude has woven his own brand of American music.
He brandishes many varied influences in his songwriting. Everything from British Folk, Americana, Country and Blues can be heard in his songs. Even the heavier sounds of Heavy Metal tend to sneak and slither it's way into the King Dude canon. The resulting songs are much more of a modern day hymn then your average pop song.
King Dude's music beg's the soul to lift itself up from the darkness of ignorance, towards the ever shining glorious "Light" that exists outside of all of us yet that which we are eternally connected to and at once connects everyone on Earth.

SISU is Sandra Vu. The LA-based singer/multi-instrumentalist layers airy, harmony-laden vocals over dreamy synthwave, which has been described as "Smithsian shoegaze" (Village Voice) and "Nightmarish Beach House" (Santa Barbara Independent). Though she's a seasoned drummer (Dum Dum Girls, The Raveonettes, Boredoms, Dirty Beaches), she's stepped out from behind the kit to center stage for SISU, opening on tour dates for Cat Power, Marnie Stern, DIIV, and Metronomy.
"Blood Tears", SISU's first full-length album (due September 2013), builds on the recently released "Light Eyes" EP (April 2013), offering a bigger sound and a heightened sense of drama. As Vu explains, "These are pop songs with un-pop sounds." SISU is defined by contrast and juxtaposition, and Vu finds a particular challenge and joy in combining opposites—soft and hard, loud and quiet, abrasive and smooth—to arrive at this aesthetic.
Writing songs for the album was catharsis for Vu, who used the process to overcome a period of disillusionment in between bands. "Blood Tears" is about relationships and the creative process—the necessity of pain for growth or creation," she says. "Sometimes you have to kill a part of yourself to become stronger." The new single "Harpoons" is a declaration of this power and independence found in divorcing yourself from the past. Both aggressive and sublime, it's quintessential SISU. From this experience, Vu found her voice, naming it SISU, the Finnish word for "extreme perseverance."
"Blood Tears" is the second release under the MONO PRISM umbrella—a collective of artists and springboard for music, film, and print projects. David South, SISU's touring bassist, heads MONO PRISM, directed SISU's first music video, "Two Thousand Hands," and creates the band's live visuals. It was these immersive audiovisual experiences that caught Cat Power's attention, which lead to SISU supporting her on numerous dates earlier this year.
Vu wrote, played, and produced "Blood Tears" with bandmates Ryan Wood (co-producer), Nathanael Keefer (drums), and Lars Stalfors (Chelsea Wolfe, The Soft Pack, The Mars Volta) mixed the album. Julianna Medeiros (Dum Dum Girls) joins SISU live on synth and backup vocals.
"Comprised of New York based duo known simply as Holly and Andy, Weeknight create the sort of languid, obfuscous pop that swirls slightly menacingly through your eardrums. The interlocking male-female vocals contain both beauty and enigmatic characteristics, whether it be the bass heavy Devil or the glitchy Dark Light (Warrior), the crackling guitar lines and other-worldly lyrics elevate Weeknight above many of their synth-led contemporaries. Whilst it's clearly lacking big budget production, the Depeche Mode vibes are prominent throughout, as are the loosely scattered shoegaze percussion sections. All in all, this debut EP entitled Dark Dark Lights is an extremely accomplished trio of tracks." - Crack In The Road

That's what we were wearing at the time… "Scavenger"- unloads like Budgie's "Breadfan" played in a high school heavy metal bedroom while the band screams threats to all freeloaders and marauders who show up to parties empty handed. "Wastin' My Time"-a more straightforward punker, keeps up the tempo but locks into a repetitive krautrock groove that worms its way into your ear holes like those brain eating maggots in Beastmaster. Cover dude (drawn by Chad Kawamura of the Outdoorsmen) getting eating by a vulture is one of the aforementioned freeloaders we have to deal with out here while our dead friend Randy watches the carnage drunk on Olympia beer like a zombie Clint Eastwood. Zig Zags have shared personnel with West Coast nose-garage royalty the Intelligence and Unnatural Helpers.
