FunkoTron compels you to move while arresting your attention. Like a transient with a Phd, Funkotron moves in styles ranging from jazz-fusion, latin, afrobeat, funk, and melt-your-face psychedelia. Funkotron has drawn a following of Merry Crinklers from around Texas- A group of wonderfully novel individuals that contribute to the great vibes and fun atmosphere. The group has played Wakarusa, ACL, and other festivals throughout the U.S. The band is based in the Austin, San Marcos, Buda area and has been touring around the United States for three years. Funkotron is: Jah-Know (The Pickler) Davies on Rhythm Guitar, Leonard (Lynskin) Baily on Keys, Stephen Gerrett on bass, Jak White on Drums, Marshall Johnson on Congas, and Anthony Stokes on Lead Guitar.
Weird Magazine writes, "The Energy Funkotron put out was intense and grooving with sick sounding funk rhythms that border with psychedelic jazz. The funky riffs were so tight, I had to step back and slap myself!"
Henry + The Invisibles
HENRY + THE INVISIBLES 'is' the one man funk soul band best known for electrifying audiences with high energy dance music and explosive live performances. Henry records live loops using his vocals, electric and acoustic guitars, bass, keyboards, drums, percussion and other random objects such as coffee cans, chairs and water jugs to create music that sounds like it is being performed by a 5 piece funk outfit. The kind of performance that puts a smile on your face and keeps folks coming back for more. To be more specific, H+TI's music sounds like Sly The Family Stone meets James Brown meets Jimi Hendrix meets Prince yet has a unique and original sound that is definitively Henry + The Invisibles.
