Caribou Mountain Collective
Caribou Mountain Collective is a quartet from Nederland, Colorado. Their extensive
original repertoire channels the rich traditions of both Appalachia and Colorado bluegrass. Their original lyrics and instrumental compositions present unique facets into americana. C.M.C. represents the next step in an ongoing revolution of roots music.
Though only together for two years, the C.M.C. has already established a strong presence in the music scene. Dobro player Allen Cooke was awarded first place at the 2013 Rockygrass dobro competition. Bassist Curly Collins brings his remarkable stage presence and industry expertise from his five years with Mountain Standard Time. Etienne Cremieux, having studied at Berklee College of Music and played extensively on both coasts, brings a decade of bluegrass fiddle experience with a uniquely driving and highly energetic style. Guitarist Miles Perry masterfully embodies the mountain heritage in his catalog of original works. Their instrumental expertise shines through Miles' songs to present a captivating new approach to a classic sound.
2015 has started out to be a big year for CMC. They played two opening sets for the Jeff Austin Band (Denver and Boulder) and recently played an opening set for the Wood Brothers. They played multiple sets at WinterWonderGrass in Avon, CO in February and look forward to a packed summer of traveling including stops at ROMP, Grey Fox, and RockyGrass.
The music we make stems from the great friendships we have. The seven of us were all destined for different paths, but through music we arrived at Rocktin Grove. Building from a love for funk, bluegrass, indie rock, classical, and world styles Rocktin Grove’s sound is a tasteful blend. Smooth fades, euphoric builds, infectious grooves, and soulful harmonies mix to form music that sweeps you away.
Also interested in sustainable agriculture, the seven of us believe music and community action can help improve and empower our world. Calling Boulder, Colorado our home, the mountains, beautiful blue sky, and deep powder keep us loving life and loving music.
Raised by wolves, taught by squirrels, enemy of the owl - Tallgrass sings songs of happiness and sorrow. This trio from Iowa City brings gravel road vocals, quick-picked guitar, and a rhythm section with stomping ground sound.
Brothers Adam and Austin Morford formed Tallgrass with Matt Skinner in May of 2011, after the three friends played together for nearly a decade as members of the Jensen Connection and the Gglitch. Influenced by old-timey sounds while digging through new-timey notes, Tallgrass writes and performs homemade auditory originals. Three-part harmonies with drums, bass, guitars, and banjos sit on music's front porch, eager to play. May all the wrong notes be right.
Their first album, God, Sin, Whiskey, and Women, was released in the summer of 2012 and is available on Itunes and Amazon.com. Their next album, a double-disc called Roots and Boots, is in the works. In the past year they've opened for President Obama in Iowa City and shared the main stage with Melissa Etheridge and Sublime with Rome at the Saturday in the Park music festival in Sioux City, Iowa. Visit their website, www.Tallgrassband.com, for contact info, pictures, tour dates, and free music and videos of the band.
