The Cutting Room Presents:
aMBe, AC Lincoln
44 E. 32nd St.
New York, NY, 10016
A sophisticated innocence. Simplicity cloaked in seduction. Like a young Bela Bartok meeting Bjork for a cocktail on the Lower East Side. A partnership, as if created in a past life, between Russian born singer/pianist/violinist Maria Brodskaya and the American guitarist/producer Brian Forbes.
aMBe hails from Brooklyn by way of Moscow. Conceived in 2012, they recently released their first single “of your crimes” and are putting the finishing touches on their EP tentatively titled “enemy of the people”.
Born on the Island of St. Croix, in the middle of his parents’ tour of the US Virgin Islands, Mr. Lincoln was exposed immediately to life as an artist.
Raised in NYC, by the age of five his Jazz Acclaimed parents Marion Cowings and Kim Kalesti noticed an inherent musicality in Mr. Lincoln. Specifically his affinity for moving his feet rhythmically. This lead to his folks gifting AC his very first pair of Tap Shoes. This young impresario quickly became popular on the NYC tap scene sharing the stage with the original "hoofers" of the time, Tap legends such as Peg Leg Bates, Jimmy Slyde, Savion Glover, Buster Brown and Henry Latang. By the age of 16, AC Lincoln was already a bit seasoned. Having had the opportunity to perform internationally with his family including grammy nominated sister Emily King, AC began composing music and songwriting. Known for sultry and smooth vocals, groove-driven rhythms and an electric, dynamic stage presence, AC Lincoln has and continues to perform and record his original music in NYC and abroad.
