The Bliss Jockeys
The Bliss Jockeys are a dynamic rock/pop/gospel band led by singer/songwriter Phil Robinson. A popular fixture on the NYC performance circuit, the band also regularly plays festivals & special events throughout the larger NY area.
Part rock, part gospel & part jam band, The Bliss Jockeys feature a large, gospel-style choir of fantastic female voices, and deliver a big, delirious experience that energizes, inspires and gets audiences singing along every time.
Taking their name from Joseph Campbell's phrase, "Follow Your Bliss," the band entertains and inspires audiences wherever it goes-- its repertoire includes Phil's fun, upbeat originals such as 'Transcendental Cowboy' and 'Through The Middle' as well as poignant cover songs such as 'Hallelujah' and 'People Get Ready' that showcase the unique musical breadth of the choir.
Myriam Phiro's Swing Party
Brought together by a mutual love of french cuisine and french music, Myriam Phiro and Robbie Kleinberg began their musical partnership and Miss Phiro's Swing Party was born. Having a swing band has always been one of Myriam's dreams; considering her range from a seductive and elegant jazz singer to an energetic swing dancer, the transition was obvious. Robbie's flair for it came after a decade of education in American Jazz, and found himself captivated by French music at first "bonjour!"
Then, selected musicians were added to the mix; creating a very unique flavor; alienating the big band era's sounds, the french elegance of the 20's topped with a modern twist. If, as individuals, all members are very much prolific in their solo careers on NY's music scene, they're happy to offer Ella Lounge's audience their rendition of a swing band!
