Watch & Listen
Since forming in 2007, The Revivalists have rightfully earned their reputation as the next breakout band from the music capital of New Orleans. The group’s blend of soulful, syncopated rock and earnest songwriting comes to life through a meticulously crafted and ever-evolving live performance. In 2011 they were named Best Emerging Artist at Gambit Magazine’s Big Easy Awards, and were nominated for Best Rock Act in 2012.
With the seed being planted during jam sessions at Tipitina's Sunday Music Workshops, where drummer Andrew Campanelli and guitarist Zack Feinberg first met, the band found its frontman by pure luck when Feinberg heard David Shaw singing on his Birch Street porch. Fueling the rhythm section, Campanelli's college friend, George Gekas, became the bassist. Feinberg later invited saxophonist Rob Ingraham, the two realizing their incontestable dynamic while taking music classes at Tulane University. After a fortuitous meeting at French Quarter Fest, Ed Williams joined on the pedal steel guitar. The newest addition to The Revivalists' cross-generational rocking goodness comes from multi-instrumentalist Michael Girardot. Having played sporadically with the band since 2009, he has grown into an integral part of their live show.
The Revivalists incessantly tour on the national level, often times supporting giants like Rebirth Brass Band and Galactic. They're also proud to have opened for notable acts JJ Grey & Mofro, Dr. John, and Trombone Shorty. Additionally, they have established themselves as an engaging festival act, gaining notoriety at CMJ (NYC), DeLuna Fest (Florida), Hangout Music Festival (Gulf Shores, AL), The Kennedy Center Millennium Stage Series (Washington, DC) and the legendary New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. At the latter they grabbed the attention of Rolling Stone Senior Editor, David Fricke, who later called their performance, “a Crescent City-rhythm spin on jam-band jubilee.”
The Heavy Pets
The Heavy Pets are an American rock band whose contagious vibe blends rhythm and blues, jazz-funk, nu-disco and reggae fusion with rock & roll. Called “a living, breathing, force of nature” by Relix Magazine, the Pets are known for their soulful song-craft and the powerhouse live performances of their infectious dance songs. Riding high on their most recent studio effort, the A/B single Two Horses, look out for The Heavy Pets as they continue to hit the road hard.
"Nice big balls" -Dennis Cook, Jambase.com
The group became an instant Sirius radio sensation in 2007 with the release of their double-disc debut album, Whale, driven by hit tracks “Operation of Flight” and “Sleep.” First embraced by the jam scene for their raw talent, their crossover sound that is showcased on their self-titled album, also dubbed a “Top 10 Album of 2010” by The Huffington Post, propelled them into the periphery of mainstream music. Returning to their acoustic roots on Swim Out Past the Sun (2011), THP's guitar duo set aside their electric axes for a more organic approach. The Heavy Pets followed up those polished efforts by releasing the Everywhere Sessions: Volume 1 EP, recorded live in the studio with accompanying videos of the three songs “Chew,” “Help Me Help You” and “The Day the Sun Forgot to Rise.”
Major festival darlings, THP have taken the stage at Bonnaroo, Jam Cruise, High Sierra, Gathering of the Vibes, All Good, Wakarusa, Mountain Jam, Bear Creek, Summer Camp, Catskill Chill, AURA and their namesake PetZoo.
The Stereo Type
Formed in the withering fires of an Orlando barbecue house party in the spring of 2013, The Stereo Type brings together influences of funk, New Orleans, reggae, pop, soul, and jamtastic rock to make some aural gumbo that is both nourishing and tasty.
The Stereo Type is one unit, five pieces, one soul. Jason "Space" Goughnour, Anthony Diaz, Jason Rogers, Eric Ruck and Nick Landess have collectively... played in well over a thousand bands. They have performed for presidents and kings, Popes, a few courtesans, and, on two memorable occasions, Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter.
Veterans of such outfits as The Burnin Smyrnans, Raisinhead, Braided Funk, and Endozone, The Stereo Type are determined to bring out the fun in funk.
