Allison Adams Tucker

"Supple as silk and smooth as cashmere...like shaking hands with a smile."
– John Gilbert eJazzNews

"Tucker is an astonishing singer with impeccable pitch and crystal clear diction, allowing each lyric to be heard clearly, even if the language itself was new… Her voice is so strong--she could sing in Martian and make it sound romantic."
– Robert Bush San Diego Union Tribune

A jazz ride from New York to Paris, Rio to Rome. Multi-lingual vocalist Allison Adams Tucker has a passion for world cultures and the language of music that binds us all. She began singing before she could speak, raised in the home of classically trained musical parents in her native San Diego, and has performed in front of audiences since she was 5. Her love for languages also started at a young age, and she has gone on to live, study, and sing in 6 languages besides her own. Her travels have taken her to 15 countries, with a large piece of her heart and her life spent in Japan and Latin America. This wanderlust is found in the music she chooses today with jazz-inspired rhythms and music of Brazil, France, Italy, Latin America, Japan, and the US.

Allison's debut album “Come With Me” was nominated Best Jazz Album 2009 by the San Diego Music Awards, and continues to receive radio airplay in 18 countries. As a session vocalist, Allison's voice can be heard in the video game "The Saboteur" soundtrack singing French jazz in the company of Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Madeleine Peyroux, & others.

Allison has entertained audiences in Japan, Europe, Mexico, and the US, and has shared festival billing and musical collaborations with jazz greats such as Kenny Burrell, Poncho Sanchez, Ivan Lins, Mindy Abair, Pete Escoveda, Sheila E, Tommy Campbell, Gene Jackson, Mirko Guerrini, Toku (Japan Sony Music) and Ken Ota (Japan Universal Jazz), among others.

For her SOhO performance, Allison is joined by Kevin Su Fukagawa (piano), Randy Tico (bass), Julien Cantelm (drums), and Rebecca Kleinmann (flute).
