Teddy Geiger catapulted to stardom with the million selling hit, “For You I Will”, featured on Geiger’s critically acclaimed debut album, Underage Thinking, which entered the Billboard charts at #8 in 2006. Just 16-years old, Teddy launched a 3-year international tour and grabbed silver screen spotlight by starring opposite Emma Stone in 2008’s The Rocker, and playing the muse in the cult hit TV series, Love Monkey.
A multi-instrumentalist and producer, Geiger’s sheer breadth of musicality imprints a bold stamp in the lexicon of American pop with his sophomore album, The Last Fears available on iTunes everywhere now. The self-produced album establishes the re-emergence of Geiger as a singer/songwriter at the forefront of the independent American music landscape, blending traditional pop structure with accents of electronica and ballads tinged with sounds as close to home as mandolins and steel guitars.
Teddy is a versatile songwriter/producer and is a featured artist on Tiesto's forthcoming album Clublife 3 Stockholm with the single "Love and Run".
"Mikey Wax is one of the most promising rock/pop singer-songwriters out right now. He has some very genuine and organic music that is a fresh take on a tired pop music genre."--KSL.com.
It all began in Oyster Bay, Long Island, where Mikey began playing piano and writing songs at just 8 years of age. Inspired early on by the Beatles, Elton John and Billy Joel, Wax quickly developed piano chops and was a natural songwriter. Fast forward ten years, while attending college at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, he honed his skills as both a singer and songwriter, and released his debut album "Change Again" in 2009. The album received a strong initial reaction on social media sites like Facebook and Youtube thanks in part to friends and a small group of early supporters. Shortly after, the single "In Case I Go Again" was selected by YouTube to be a featured music video on it's homepage, resulting in over half a million views and propelling the album to the top 100 on the iTunes pop chart in the US, UK, Canada and Australia. The success of the album introduced thousands of new fans to his music, including Superbowl MVP Aaron Rodgers, who has publicly mentioned that Mikey is a top artist on his playlist. Most recently, "In Case I Go Again" was featured during the 2012 Summer Olympics on NBC, and on the ABC Family hit show Pretty Little Liars in late 2013.
Mikey has performed nation-wide sharing the stage with artists such as Howie Day, Jon McLaughlin, Andy Grammer, Tony Lucca, Ryan Cabrera, Tyler Hilton, Graham Colton and Landon Pigg, among others. He has deepened the bond with his fans by also offering something very unique on tour: exclusive house concerts to small groups of fans right in their own living rooms. The demand for these performances became so great that during the summers of 2010 through 2012, Wax completed over 200 intimate house concerts for hundreds of fans. "There's something very special about playing for fans so up close and personal. They're able to connect to my music in a unique and memorable way," says Mikey.
Wax's second album, titled "Constant Motion" was produced by Warren Huart (The Fray, Kris Allen, James Blunt) and self-released in September, 2011. Thanks to a growing fan base, the album shot to #6 on the iTunes singer/songwriter chart and #47 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. The single "Counting On You" received airplay on Adult Top 40 stations across the country, and eventually helped Wax become the only unsigned artist on the US Mediabase HOT AC top-40 chart. Soon after, "Counting On You" was featured on the FOX hit reality TV series So You Think You Can Dance as the show's weekly elimination song, and was also used in the movie trailer for the major motion picture Playing For Keeps. The placements earned Mikey an exclusive interview on the popular entertainment website younghollywood.com, as well as a feature in USA Today.
Mikey has recently been recognized by both New Music Seminar & iHeart Radio as an "Artist On The Verge" and an "Artist To Watch", respectively. His fan base continues to grow online and at shows thanks to an engaging audience who connect with Mikey's passion for music and life. Wax's new full-length album, recorded with producer/brother duo Scott & Ed Cash, will be released in June, 2014 on Toucan Cove / Universal Music Group. The first single from the upcoming album, titled "You Lift Me Up", was released in late March, and quickly landed on the iTunes Top 200 Pop Chart, in addition to being featured by iTunes as “Ahead Of The Curve”. The song has also received over 500,000 Spotify streams since its debut. Stay tuned for what's next…
