Parallels (mbr of Crystal Castles)

Parallels is an electronic-pop duo consisting of Cameron Findlay (former drummer of Crystal Castles) and honey-haired front girl Holly Dodson, whose vocals combine the intense balladry of Kate Bush with the sweetness of Kylie Minogue and Madonna's true-blue era. A true front woman through and through, Dodson channels the magnetism of free-spirited predecessors like Marianne Faithful and Stevie Nicks whilst weaving together sounds of static circuitry with lilting neu-Italo undertones into a patchwork of complex sonic stratums. Using a collection of vintage synthesizers and uptempo HI-NRG rhythm patterns, Parallels has been likened to the classic pop sentiments of Giorgio Moroder, New Order and Depeche Mode.

2008 saw drummer Cameron Findlay wrapping up a national tour with Crystal Castles, allowing him more free time to record demos of what would later become the foundation of Parallels' repertoire. Emailing Holly Dodson the partially completed tracks he had been working on, a co-writing partnership quickly sparked leading to the completion of their first single 'Ultralight' - a perfect blend of disco pop and sonic dystopia. Returning home at the end of his 2008 tour with Crystal Castles, Findlay shifted his focus to this new project where the two soon began to write and develop the track-listing which would eventually become debut full-length, Visionaries.

Recently playing SOLD OUT shows in San Francisco and Vancouver, Parallels have shared the stage with internationally-acclaimed artists such as Florence and the Machine, The Juan MacLean, Sebastian Tellier, Crystal Castles, Midnight Juggernauts, A-Trak, Broken Social Scene and Miami Horror. Creating quite a stir with their various collaborations, including an official remix for English indie quartet Delphic's track 'This Momentary,' Parallels have indeed been taking the world by storm. Track 'Find The Fire' off their debut LP Visionaries was recently featured on the Kitsune Maison Compilation 8.

Pyro Fighter

With an in-your-face blend of Dance, Pop and Electronica, Pyro Fighter first hit the scene opening for Grammy award winning DJ Benny Benassi at his highly publicized 2010 event. Rave reviews quickly followed and with the influence of photographers, bloggers and VJs, the organized hype led to an all-out takeover of the city of Columbus.

Not even a year after their formation, the group was contacted by MTV and had their single “LMFAO” selected to be featured on the Season 2 Premiere of the smash hit “Jersey Shore.” With over 5 million viewers, the response was overwhelming and led them to have nearly the entire track played again on the very next episode. After that, the internet hype for the group virtually exploded on YouTube, iTunes, Facebook and Soundcloud. Since then Dany and her boys have topped the charts of and been featured on radio stations throughout the US and Canada.

Within a month of relocating to Chicago in search of new and bigger opportunities, Pyro Fighter booked their breakout performance at Evil Olive’s nationally recognized weekly event, Porn and Chicken and were confirmed for this years North Coast Music Festival. The group plans to keep releasing fresh singles to their hungry fanbase as fast as they can pump them out, rule their new home city of Chicago and start touring the US very soon.

Pocket Of Lollipops

Visual art and indie musical performance group Pocket of Lollipops brings together the talents of husband and wife team Tony Kapel and Maitejosune Urrechaga. The Miami based duo have performed at various art spaces and live music venues around South Florida and the U.S., including Dorsch Gallery, Hollywood Art and Culture Center, and more traditional rock settings.

They define their musical genre as sophisticated punk rock; their sound is noisy but organized, thoughtful and melodic. With Maite on bass and Tony on drums, their music is directly influenced by David Byrne and Lou Reed’s live performances; they identify with Sonic Youth, another band that features a musical collaboration by a married couple.

Pocket of Lollipops is presenting their music as a work of art. They marry visual works with their sound, and ideally are presenting their music and art in a way that is original and appealing and very much alive. Pocket of Lollipops brings the present into the future.
