Clairy Browne & The Bangin' Rackettes

Clairy Browne & The Bangin' Rackettes

Clairy Browne and her harmonising girl group The Bangin' Rackettes formed in 2009 over a mutual love of nineties dance videos, early soul records and big hair. They teamed up with a group of rogue musicians and started rehearsing and recording in a barely standing ex-coffin factory in the suburbs of Melbourne, which quickly became the musical home to this young band.

Over the last few years, Clairy and co have been bringing their imaginative concotion of soul, surf and rhythm n' blues to fans all over the world, having recently toured to Japan and Europe and played their first U.S. shows to sold-out crowds in Los Angeles and New York City.

Their live show is an experience from start to finish, these dynamic and energetic happenings are created with the intention of taking their audience to another place, with their contemporary take on the heightened hysteria of 1960's music TV.

The Dustbowl Revival

"A nine-piece band that would have sounded utterly at home within the hallowed confines of Preservation Hall in New Orleans' French Quarter. The seven men, most with suspenders attached to well-worn trousers, broad ties and vests and some sporting 1930s-vintage newsboy caps, and two women in flapper-inspired dresses, are members of a ragtag outfit called the Dustbowl Revival, strumming, sawing and puffing enthusiastically as smiling listeners on the dance floor swung their partners infectiously."
