Being hailed as “Denver’s newest party band” is a hefty responsibility. Luckily, no task seems too great for Denver’s 11-piece afrobeat outfit, ATOMGA to take on.
Founded in 2011, ATOMGA is already a planet-sized force taking the scene by storm. Using afrobeat as its foundation, the band is not afraid to take chances while staying true to their authentic roots--and it’s working. When ATOMGA take
s the stage, it depicts organized chaos at its finest. With every performance, you get a 4-piece power-packed horn section, a steadfast percussion trifecta, a deep-groving rhythm section, and solid, engaging soloists. Every show turns into a booty-shaking dance party that leaves audiences exhausted from moving, but still craving more.
Over the past year, ATOMGA has supported Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, See-I (featuring members of Thievery Corporation), Juno What?!, The Pimps of Joytime and Balkan Beat Box. They have performed at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom, The Boulder Theater, Belly Up - Aspen, Ullrs Tavern, Summit Music Hall, Desert Rocks Music Festival and are already becoming a staple in the Colorado and regional festival circuit. ATOMGA has received positive acclaim from publications including Denver Westword, Listen Up Denver, Intity Weekly and Mountain News Weekly.
ATOMGA continues to hone their craft with no inkling of complacency while continuing their “kick the audience in the face” momentum. With an unyielding desire to share the infectious energy their music has to offer, ATOMGA will continuously connect your mind, body and soul.
Boulder-based quartet Jet Edison has quickly emerged from Colorado's rich music scene as a top rock/fusion band on the road today. Following their first year on the road, with headlining tours throughout the Rocky Mountain region and the Midwest, the band enters 2012 with no sign of slowing. In crafting their distinct genre-blending music, each member contributes a wealth of influences from modern rock, '70s prog, old school funk, and '80s dance music. Borrowing from so many styles, their original songs feature strong technical musicianship, varying time signatures, tempos, and dynamics while remaining grounded by thought provoking lyrics and talented improvisation. Together they create a sound as interesting and imaginative as it is groovy and danceable.
Jet Edison brings their unique approach to the modern jam scene and word of their captivating, high-energy performances has spread rapidly, gaining them recognition throughout the Rocky Mountain region and beyond. Recently the group was nominated as Colorado’s Best Rock Band in the "Jam/Improv” category for the second year by Denver's Westword Magazine. With larger shows, more extensive tours, and exciting new originals on the horizon, Jet Edison continues to give audiences something to dance about all night long.
Jet Edison has also been billed alongside such national acts as Particle, 7 Walker feat. Bill Kreutzmann, Orgone, Cornmeal, and Marco Benevento and has performed and played with members of Colorado's most established bands, a few being Leftover Salmon, The Motet, Euforquestra, Kinetix, Head for the Hills, Elephant Revival, Mountain Standard Time and WhiteWater Ramble.
Cold River City
Born to groove, Cold River City is the love child of funky soul and dirty blues. Fronted by Emma Fields and Brian Hubbert, the six piece live band features seductive vocal harmonies, screaming slide guitar, and a tight rhythm section guaranteed to make you get down with your bad self. The band draws their sound from a variety of genres, creating a fun and danceable style they call Psychedelic Groove Soul.
The band’s versatile sound has given them the opportunity to share the stage with a diverse list of acts that include The Revivalists, Matisyahu and Elephant Revival and have played an impressive list of Colorado venues including the Fox Theatre, Boulder Theater, Ogden Theater, Bluebird Theater, Cervantes Masterpiece and The Belly Up Aspen.
