Zion I: The Rapture live from Oaklandia

Zion I, Oakland's diverse underground kings, present a rare concert experience at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz on Saturday October 4th, 2014. Zion I will be recording their upcoming album "The Rapture: Live from Oaklandia" with a full band at The Catalyst, featuring classics from their expansive catalog. The band, curated by piano prodigy Kev Choice, will re-envision and transform these standards into a unique and intimate space by incorporating elements of jazz and acoustic instrumentation. In addition, attendees will have their names recorded in the liner notes of the album as well as receiving the album digitally before it is available to the public, making this a truly collaborative experience for the artists and fans alike. For aficionados of Zion I and Hip Hop culture, this is an extraordinary opportunity to participate in and be a part of Bay Area musical history.

Equipto made it from San Francisco and is the C.E.O of Solidarity Records and has been making music for 15+ years doing collaborations with Mac Dre, Berner, Andre Nickatina, The Jacka, Smoov-E, San Quinn and shag Nasty to name a few. He is highly influenced by San Francisco along with 2Pac, Malcolm X, E-40, Public Enemy, EPMD, and too many more to name.
