Amity Aschliman wants to start by letting you know "Amity" is the Latin word for friendship. "Buddy buddy" is a phrase that means friends. Coincidence? Yes. But Amity loves improvising in the long form style with her Buddy Buddies. She has studied at Second City and the Annoyance Theater in Chicago and performs regularly with IndyProv in Indianapolis. Become Internet Buddies with her on Twitter and Instagram: @RobotAmity
Beth St. Clair is originally from Southern California and moved to Indy in 2011 to get hitched to her husband Keenan. Beth first sought out improvisational comedy while living in DC as a way to improve her ability to think on her feet as a consultant. She got hooked! She is super excited to be performing with Buddy Buddy. Beth is currently busy growing her first baby, as well as her first organic food garden...
Christina Presley caught the improv bug while living in the luscious and lovely Pacific Northwest. Studying at the Brody Theatre and Curious Comedy, she embraced the "yes, and" approach to life. Christina's thrilled to work with Buddy Buddy to expose Indianapolis to long-form improv. When not on stage, she teaches French, traipses online dating websites, and strums her bass guitar.
Mike Starr is originally from Columbus, Ohio. He did his undergrad at Ohio State and grad school at Texas A&M. Currently Mike works at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) as an Academic Advisor. In his free time, he loves watching and playing sports (college football is his favorite – Go Buckeyes!), watching TV and movies, playing guitar, and enjoying a beer with friends.
Rob Miller is a Chicago native and remembers growing up on the comedic stylings of SNL and Whose Line Is It Anyway? Rob had dreams to "grow up to be a comedian or a chemist", and eventually earned a Chemistry degree while doing improv comedy with his college's troupe. Outside of Buddy Buddy, Rob applies to be on reality TV shows, loves to shop at Goodwill, and recently decided to learn how to play the ukulele.
Tim met Improv in the winter of 2011...and it was love at first..prov. Tim flirted with Improv for awhile, but when he learned about long-form improvisation, he knew this was more than just a crush. So, Tim decided to see where this romance would take him and in July of 2012, he spent five hot and heavy weeks at iO Chicago's summer intensive program. It was in Chicago that Tim and Improv fell head over heels. Upon returning to Indiana, Tim discovered like-minded long-form-loving friends and in a flurry of passion (this is where the metaphor gets WEIRD), Buddy-Buddy was born. Tim says about Improv, "I love how Improv can exist with such depth, range, and realness of character and relationships." Improv says about Tim, "When Tim and I are together, we invite everyone to experience this genuine, authentic love we have going on.....I guess you could call it an open relationship."
