Memphis, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Drew Southern has traveled the country polishing his exciting blend of blues, soul and rock n roll. Whether it's Yoshi's San Francisco main stage sharing the bill with the iconic Big Brother and the Holding Company or a blues bar on the sunset strip down in LA, there is nothing Drew loves more than to grab his guitar and let it rip. The future is very bright for Drew Southern.
Bear Lincoln is an up-beat rock hopping garage/funk excursion from Berkeley. At a Bear Lincoln show, you'll encounter a mix of dynamic wily originals in English and Spanish, and first-rate soul covers. To hear a taste or smell a sound of their music, go to bearlincoln.com
Aidan Ward, Ben Einstein, Derek Burle, and Taylor Moxon all met in Santa Cruz, where they shared a love for all things ursine and presidential (though they didn't know it at the time). The former three played in The Best Friends, the latter in the Salty Dogs - and when you combine those entities – well, you get the friendliest dogs in town.
San Francisco duo MtHammer tangles with opposites: half drums, half guitar; half blues, half grunge; half epic, half garage; half philosophical, half nonsensical. We are two southern musicians (Texas and Alabama) who blend the soulfulness of blues-men like R.L. Burnside and Son House, the progressive intuition of bands like QOTSA and Jimi Hendrix, and our own brand of homebrewed nonsense rock. Imagine what Nirvana would have sounded like if they'd ever gotten lost in the piney woods of the southern states. We pull all this together to make a bigger, more unexpected sound with two people than most bands achieve with four or more.
2012 saw us gigging all over the Bay Area: Red Devil Lounge, El Rio, Stork Club, and The Blue Lamp in Sacramento, to name a few. In 2013 we turned our focus to recording, completing our first EP, Dionysus, at Louder Studios with SF tape-only legend Tim Green. Dionysus is currently in print and will be available online and at Aquarius Records. Currently, we are recording additional material to round out a full album, including "Asleep Beneath the Stars," an 11-minute psychedelic metal blues opus.
Formed in February 2013, them Hibbity Dibbity boys swiftly established themselves as a musical powerhouse through their dynamic live performances. The unique, psychedelicous sounds of the Dib are forged through a combination of musicianship and unique songwriting. Drawing from influences such as the guitar-driven sounds of the Allman Brothers to the greasy down-home grooves of RL Burnside to the improvisational journeys of the Grateful Dead, Hibbity Dibbity is rapidly becoming a must-see band in the San Francisco music scene.
