House of Blues resident, Jermaine Quiz Entourage will bring their quickly growing Mash-up Dance Party to Vinyl Music Hall. The word has traveled fast in celebrity circles with patronage from icons of popular culture including Drake, Kim Kardashian and Mannie Fresh.
Bringing their unique style of live looping and "Mashing" of Classic Funk with hip-hop, 80's and pop music plus the added element of a live horn section and drummer, provides an atmosphere of unparalleled hipness that can't be matched.
JQE is made up of three of the fastest rising stars in new Orleans. They draw on the cities rich musical traditions, but it is innovation that makes them stand apart. Jermaine Quiz, DJ for Two Time Voted "Best Hip-Hop act in NOLA", Jealous Monks will be joined by Justin Skinner of Mob Towne Revival on the drums as well as electric violin from James Hausman- all adding to the unique flavor of this one of a kind act!
Turbo Crab was founded with one goal in mind, and that goal was "FUN". The group formed as friends getting together and learning a few songs to play in two Mardi Gras parades in the early part of 2012. After the parades were over, having tons of fun, and seeing how well they meshed together, the group decided to keep the good time rolling.
With a group of diverse individuals, all of whom have different tastes in styles music, it was obvious the mission was to learn and cover a wide array selections. The songs they play consist of modern to classic. From rock to r&b and hip-hop to country. Girl songs or guy songs, everything really just to keep the people guessing what was next and wanting more. The hope was no matter what each audience member's tastes, they would play something to get everyone's party started!
The name took awhile. What name would be best suited for such an array of guys? After a couple months of debate, the name Turbo Crab, spawned from an obscure fishing reference was agreed upon, mainly because it was fun to say and fit with the coastal area of Baldwin County that they all call home. Now, Turbo Crab was ready to for the world!
Turbo Crab's goal still remains "FUN". They truely believe that it is infectious, and if they are having a good time, then an outbreak of "FUN" will follow!
Fatty Waters focuses on live performance, mixing trance blues elements from Anders Osborne influences with the grease of an old James Brown record.
