Explosive. Energizing. Electrifying. Outrageously Fun. These are often the words used to describe the sensation of Suede, a premier variety cover band also performing original music and touring with George Lopez since December 2009.
See them light up the stage as an opening act in large-scale venues, wow a varied crowd at corporate events and utterly astound the audience in smaller, intimate venues.
From the two incredible lead singers, each with his own unique style, to the legendary talent on guitar and drums, the band creates an unforgettable, electrifying sound and experience and leaves fans coming back for more.
Robert Wagner and Brian Andrew Lee, on alternating lead vocals have incredible range and mastery of songs from the 80’s, 90’s and today (often described as sounding better than the originals) and make a connection with any crowd regardless of age, music preferences or heritage. Pair their voices with John Lockhart’s smoking lead guitar, Danny Swinney on Bass and Chris Skiles, rocking the crowd on drums for an unforgettable performance that has the crowd dancing and singing along to over 5 decades of radio rock hits.
Guitarist Jake Langley has emerged as one his generation's great young talents on the instrument. The Austin based musician held the guitar chair with the illustrious Joey Defrancesco Trio for five years, performing world wide. Jake is now focused on leading his own group, the Bordertown Bootleggers, a Western Swing Allstar band featuring Cindy Cashdollar. His fifth jazz organ trio CD "Here and Now" was released in 2009 under Tone Poet Music and features New York heavyweights Sam Yahel and Ian Froman. Jakes fourth CD with Joey Defrancesco and Byron Landham "Movin' and Groovin" (Alma Universal) was nominated for a Juno Award in Canada in 2007. Also in that year, Jake was featured on Joey Defrancesco's CDs "Organic Vibes" (Concord) with Bobby Hutcherson and "Authorized Bootlegs" with George Coleman (Concord).
His Jazz credits read like a who's who with the likes of Jazz icons Bobby Hutcherson, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Jimmy McGriff, Steve Gadd, Pat Labarbara, James Moody, Trudy Pitts, George Coleman, Houston Person, Pee Wee Ellis, Scott Hamilton, Garth Hudson, Ron Blake and Bill Cosby and others. Jake's excells in genres outside of jazz including soul, funk, R&B, Rock and Pop as can be heard via his recordings with David Clayton Thomas "Aurora" (Justin Time) and with performing alongside artists Willie Nelson, Rufus Wainright, Bobby "Blue" Bland, and KD Lang.
The guitarist has been heard in many broadway productions such as The Color Purple, Mama Mia, Hair, and Jesus Christ Superstar.
Jake appears on the P.B.S. special and DVD "Legends of Jazz" and has performed on many national T.V. shows including the Songwriters Hall of fame.
