PCA is a nonprofit that provides a one-stop shop where victims of child sexual abuse go to experience a kid friendly environment, receive victim support services and talk to highly specialized forensic interviewers who coordinate with DHS, Philadelphia Special Victims Unit (SVU), and the DA’s office so the child doesn’t have to re-live what happened to them by re-telling each individual agency. All proceeds from the album and concert will benefit PCA.
In addition to musical performances, representatives from Philadelphia Weekly’s, “The Survivors Project” will read excerpts from their personal stories which detail surviving sexual abuse.
Cliff Hillis is a singer/songwriter based outside of Philadelphia PA. He has become known for writing catchy melodic pop songs that have been compared to the likes of Wilco, Fountains of Wayne, and The Beatles. Cliff's songs have been featured in several movies (such as Jennifer Lopez "Enough") and TV shows (such as Party Of Five, Life Unexpected and All My Children). His newest independent release "Dream Good" has just come out on TallBoy Records, and was mixed by studio wizard Brad Jones at Alex The Great Recording in Nashville TN. The album features guests such as members of the Philadelphia band The Hooters, Danny Wilde of The Rembrandts and Philip Price of The Winterpills.
The Caulfields, led by John Faye, was an alternative rock band which recorded two albums for A&M records in the 90's. They reunited to record a new version "Atlas Daughter" for the Movin' On CD and are reuniting again for this special benefit concert!
Messages of hope embedded in emotionally driven rock...
Much like Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom and sponsor of the arts from whom they take their name, Peg and Kevin combine both their passion for music with a desire to inspire and heal others.
Singer/songwriter Lauren Hart is best known for her introspective lyrics and soaring vocals, and for her connection to the Philadelphia Flyers. The daughter of legendary NHL Hall of Fame Announcer Gene Hart, known for 30 years as “The Voice of the Flyers,” Lauren sings the National Anthem before every Philadelphia Flyers home game, the musical “voice” of the Flyers. She is also the former host of the NBC news and variety show 10!. She has performed for Bill Clinton and Frank Sinatra, and her music has been featured in several television series including “Joan of Arcadia,” “Party of Five,” and “All My Children.” Lauren’s National Anthem appears on the soundtrack of the Disney film “Miracle,” and she recently recorded “America the Beautiful” for the soon to be released documentary film “When Jane & Johnny Come Marching Homeless.” Lauren wrote the soundtrack for the award winning documentary “Race to the Bottom of the Earth” and is writing all the music for the new television show DANGEROUS GROUNDS. A member of the Board of Governors of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (Grammy Awards) and previous Philadelphia Vice President, Lauren released her sixth CD, an EP titled "AWAKENING“, in April 2013. Her passion for music is matched only by her passion for the charitable organizations she is committed to – the Gene Hart Memorial Fund, Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation, Echoes Foundation in Uganda, and Wide Horizons for Children. When you think about the things you really love about music you will find them from Nik Everett. For the past 25 years Nik has served up a potent mix that results as a updated classic rock sound. He can be seen and heard regionally with his acclaimed band or solo acoustic. He is also a film composer having co-written the music for the acclaimed documentary, "Greetings From Asbury Park" that is currently airing nationally on PBS Television.
