Hi. I'm Theresa. I grew up on a raisin farm in California and played sports for a really long time. I always loved to sing, but was too scared to do it. It wasn't as practical of a career move as becoming a doctor or a lawyer or president of the united states. I moved out of my small town to Brooklyn on a volleyball scholarship, and saw all these people pursuing their crazy dreams, and it didn't seem so scary anymore.
I started writing my own songs, and fell in love with taking the confused and scattered thoughts in my head, putting them into words and enhancing them with music. I decided music was it for me when a professor of mine said, "if there is anything else you want to do, anything else you can see yourself becoming, anything else that will fulfill you in life and bring you happiness, do that instead." And I couldn't think of anything else.
Hey there. My names Christy and I have been writing since I was 10. I just recently started playing guitar to make my poems actual songs. I have loved to sing since I was a little girl. The songs that I write are very personal to me. 2012 has been a year of change for me. Music has been the backbone in this change. It has kept me sober, and it has been a healing process. I don't know what I'd do without music. It's my life, my love, my religion, and my coping mechanism. I appreciate all the support I can get.
