Forward Motion’s music and performances capture the qualities of music that move people. Steeped in the traditions of funk and soul, their sound is instantly recognizable yet entirely new.
Influenced by his jazz and rock backgrounds, singer, songwriter and pianist Alex Godiksen has developed a style that is at once both lyrical and soul-driven. Lead guitarist Andy Sorenson and drummer Jon Stoltzfus are childhood friends from Philadelphia who share a love of classic funk and modern jazz. Guitarist John Brackett has come back to Connecticut after several years of absorbing the classic Americana sounds of blues and country in Tennessee. While the influences are diverse, they are also at the root of Forward Motion’s ability to create a sound that can instantly connect with the audience.
The members of Forward Motion are determined to create original and honest music that is both story driven and constantly evolving. As a band on the rise, they are excited to bring their sound to new audiences and venues throughout the country.
Steve Gregory Band
Soul/Pop Rock. Big choruses. Big band. Great show. After 5 years of playing live, The Steve Gregory Band has opened for national acts like Lifehouse, Los Lonely Boys, Jeffrey Gaines to name just a few with award-winning songs and radio airplay. 2 discs are available now through most digital outlets with a 3rd in the works.
Ranging from progressive to pop, funk to alternative, and blues to indie, IBIS has blended unique musical backgrounds into a cohesive new sound. Their dimensions are far from linear, and their spectrum of styles and arrangements will make you want think. Though relatively new to the CT music scene, Ibis has already made their mark; having received airplay on Hartford's Radio 104.1, as well as having been invited to perform as a headlining act at Infinity Music Hall, home to CPTV’s Live Music Concert Series. Ibis will be releasing it's self-titled EP this fall.
