DJ Big Styles

Denver based DJ Big Styles is quickly becoming an international phenomenon, expanding his list of venues played to include London, Paris and Germany by the end of 2012. The DJ behind the internationally blogged Dillah Jones (J Dilla and Norah Jones) mashup series is a veteran music journalist and producer.

His career began in Denver, Colorado where as a part of Step On productions he helped create “So What! The Club” the award winning, long standing independent club night dedicated to hip hop, funk, soul and all that jazz. The ground breaking success of So What! led to residencies at some of Colorado’s hottest clubs and spinning spots at A-list events like 2005’s All Star Weekend.

A devoted music lover, Styles contributes as Shawn C. White for popular music blogs: chromemusic.de, westword.com, and shortandsweetla.com. He has interviewed masters of their art such as John Legend and Gretchen Parlato.

As a DJ/Producer Styles has been recognized by NME.com, Charlie Dark from Attica Blues, andHype Machine. Styles recently combined efforts with Geoff Double G Gallegos of the DaKah Hip Hop orchestra to bring a different twist on live jazz and DJs to LA’s Silverlake neighborhood. Styles creates ambitious re-works alongside San Francisco’s DTek as the duo TekStyles. The end of 2012 will see TekStyles release the conceptual Michael Jackson re-work album “The Life of the Party” and a Dillah Jones tribute album.

“I’m listening to (Dillah Jones) and I’m just smiling from ear to ear. Great work bruv!” -Charli Dark, Attica Blues

SAM WARREN

When the lights go down....

Occupying the twilight zone between deep house, nu disco, and techno, Sam Warren’s eclectic and pulsating sound pays homage to the clubs and dancefloors around the world that birthed it. His love for soulful, forward-thinking house music is steeped in an affinity for complex, haunting melodies that somersault the crowd and infect every set he plays. Barely an infant in DJ years, within 9 months Sam had already begun holding down residencies all over Washington D.C. and sharing the stage with D.C.'s house veterans. Between supporting artists like Plastic Plates, teaming up with JD Productions, and a forthcoming move to the West Coast, big things are just over the horizon.
