The Word Alive
The Word Alive is an American metalcore band from Phoenix, Arizona. Formed in 2008, the band is signed to Fearless Records. Their 2009 label debut, Empire reached No. 15 on the Top Heatseekers, meeting a great amount of positive acclaim upon its release in 2009. The following year, the group recorded and released their debut full-length album, Deceiver on August 31, 2010, which reached No. 97 on the Billboard 200 and 15 on Independent Albums.
Crown The Empire
Since bursting onto the scene in 2011 with their debut EP, “Limitless”, Crown The Empire have shown no signs of slowing down. 2012 brought the band to the forefront with their debut full-length, “The Fallout”, and a cocktail of world tours, magazine covers, and die hard fan dedication ensued, pushing ‘ The Fallout’ to sell over 85,000 copies to date. Their sophomore follow up ‘ The Resistance: Rise of the Runaways’ further explored the conceptual world within their previous release, and was greeted with even more enthusiasm, reflected in the 75,000copies sold in half the time of their previous effort.
In 2016, Crown The Empire released their new album ‘ Retrograde’ . This record sees a departure from the conceptual world that defined their past efforts, and instead the band takes you on a voyage into the reality of their lives as a band of twenty-something’ s growing up under a spotlight, and the way they see the world around them. Bathed in cinematic production reminiscent of the space epics ‘ Interstellar’ or ‘ 2001: A Space Odyssey’ , combined with blistering guitar riffs comparable to the likes of ‘ Incubus’ or other alt-rockers of a time gone by, Crown The Empire have made their identity known with Retrograde, proving they have the song-writing prowess backed by an understanding and aptitude for cultural identity that has them ready to stand amongst the giants.
There is nothing fake about Retrograde. The 13 song LP blends seamlessly from track to track, allowing fans to truly embrace Crown The Empire as a soundtrack to their lives in an unparalleled way. Nothing is holding Crown back from being one of the biggest bands in rock, and ‘ Retrograde’ marks only the beginning of what will be a cultural impact the world over.
We started the band with the motive to not be another mundane closed minded group of musicians. We were all sick of the regurgitated music that was being put out, and unhappy with how Intolerant the music scene had become in our hometown. This gave us the passion to create music that not only went against everything in our hometown scene, but also to make music that truly made us feel whole. The meaning behind the name "Get Scared" is to not hold back in life. Do whatever you are passionate about, get out of your comfort zone and don't be afraid of failure, the only way to fail is to never try at all. Get Scared
Palisades, formerly known as Marilyn Is Dead, has further reinforced and redefined their sound. Armed with a combination of post-hardcore and pop-punk influences, Palisades adds an entire new element of emotion to their rich, big sound. Strong, catchy choruses, along with aggressive melodic screaming are combined with more contemporary breakdowns, adding a very unique and distinct character to their music. Having recently recorded at Chango Gridlock Studios in Orlando Florida, Palisades plans to release their EP, and continue frequent touring.
