Out and About Magazine and Twin Lakes Brewery are proud to present Travel Songs’ Record Release Show to World Cafe Live at the Queen!
Founded by Zachary Humenik in 2012, Travel Songs is an organization of musicians, anthropologists, and film makers who travel the globe to document, preserve, and share the music of the world. Based out of the East Coast of the United States, Travel Songs writes, records, and performs original music influenced by their journeys abroad. Travel Songs hosts a number of field recordings, videos, blog posts, and photo essays on their website, Travelsongs.org, and their first studio album, Casa, is scheduled to be released on October 4, 2013.
In Spring 2013, Travel Songs launched a Kickstarter campaign to successfully fund the first large scale production of their documentary series that focuses on music and culture around the world. The group then headed to Cusco, Peru in the Summer of 2013 to film and create Travel Songs: Peru, the first installment of the series. Through this series, Travel Songs hopes to bring people together through music and celebrate the diversity that makes our world such an interesting place.

The Splashing Pearls
The Splashing Pearls are one of the most engaging bands to emerge in a long time. Original songs written by Peter Scobell that tell stories "the old-fashioned way", supported by a quirky and unique blend of instrumentation. While it was happenstance that they arrived as a trio of ukulele, steel drums and upright bass, the real "coup de grace" is the wonderful vocal by Larkin Salemi. Whether it be folk, rock, blues, reggae, swing, fun or vaudeville, The Splashing Pearls always entertain.
