Formed by British twins Joe and Luke McGarry when they were still teenage students at the Orange County High School of the Arts in Southern California, Pop Noir quickly built a following in the indie clubs of Los Angeles. To date, the band has supported Doves, The Wombats, Robyn, Sebastien Tellier, Iglu & Hartly and Fitz & The Tantrums, and headlined shows in Los Angeles,
Las Vegas, San Francisco, London, Manchester and Paris.
Pop Noir's debut single – "DIY" – debuted at #5 on the FMQB Speciality Radio charts and received strong support from KROQ. The video was Spinner.com's Video of the Day and was voted mtvU's "Freshmen of the Week," after which it spent two months in heavy rotation on the channel. "DIY" was also featured on a number of TV show soundtracks, including episodes of ABC's "The Gates" and "Fly Girls." The band's most recent single, a cover of the New Order classic, "Temptation," received strong radio support, and debuted at #2 on the FMQB charts.
Moons Of Mars
One year after releasing their debut EP, Moons of Mars, brothers Giovan Polanco & Mario Polanco have been focused on continually writing and producing new tunes, while consistently playing local
venues (the Glasshouse, the Echo, the Bootleg, and the Satellite). Over the next few months, the band will release 4 tracks of the upcoming EP, Free to Fly. To begin, they released their new single
‘Life Is A Mystery’ which is available for free download at moonsofmars.net.
Beat Club is a Los Angeles based band consisting of Jeff Kite (keyboards/vocals), Jon Pancoast (bass), and Anthony Polcino (guitars/vocals).
The music draws from an eclectic palette of influences ranging everywhere from hip-hop to punk rock to world-dance. Armed with an arsenal of songs often driven by searing, rhythmic guitars, funky Afrobeat bass lines and vintage synthesizers, layered over a booming blend of acoustic and electronic beats, Beat Club has become a fresh and unmistakeable musical collective.
Most of 2012 was spent writing and recording material as well as playing a slew of boisterous shows in the Los Angeles area.
The debut Maxi Single from Beat Club featuring "Something Better", "Dirty Disco", and "Globetrotters" is out now via PCM | Mom + Pop's Boombox.
