Chicago's electronic rock stalwarts Future Rock continue to pound out pulsating beats with the verocity of a 70′s era rock band. Outside of hometown Chicago, they may be best known for high profile and excellent remixes of Daft Punk, Neon Indian, Black Moth Super Rainbow and DFA 1979. Back home they are justly celebrated for legendary performances such as their set at Wicker Park Fest that turned the entire neighborhood into a vast and energized dance floor, forcing even the palest and most resolutely hard-to-impress hipsters to call up their inner dance monsters. Live performances combine loops, samples and Mickey Kellerman's keyboards with Darren Heitz's drums plus Felix Moreno's Larry Graham-style bass slapping to create an enormously powerful groove. Their light show is as good as their music, and their set have been known to inspire dance frenzies.
Evolving in the dirty south, ZOOGMA's sound combines the sonic diversity and precision of a DJ with the excitement and immediacy of a four-piece rock group. ZOOGMA is able to blend genres in a musical experience that is refreshingly original yet steeped in dance music tradition, appealing to a range of audiences. Known for their energetic performances and retina pleasing light shows, the band consistently dishes out heavyweight beat-driven dance parties across the nation. With the most recent release of “Anthems 4 Androids” and a relentless touring schedule, the four members have already added their unique voice to the live electronic-rock scene.
Turbo Suit (formerly Cosby Sweater)
Turbo Suit is a vibrant voice in live electronic music. The versatile Indianapolis trio is comprised of David Embry on production and vocals, Nicholas Gerlach on tenor saxophone and EWI, and Jeff Peterson on drums.
While under the name Cosby Sweater, the band has been making crowds dance since their launch in 2012. They have shared the stage with Pretty Lights, Umphrey’s McGee, The Disco Biscuits, Lotus, Deltron 3030 and EOTO, and performed at a plethora of top national festivals. On multiple occasions the band has been joined by Joel Cummins of Umphrey’s McGee on keyboards.
Turbo Suit consistently drops new original music with songs that are infectiously danceable, making it impossible not to groove along with the winding, sensual saxophone melodies and ultra-accessible beats. They also regularly release popular Turbo Suit-style remixes of tracks by their contemporaries.
Coming off of a fall tour highlighted by a group of Live Nation “One’s to Watch” dates and shows across the U.S, all signs are pointing to a monumental 2015 that includes releasing a new full-length album featuring several special guests.
