Chicago's electronic rock stalwarts Future Rock continue to pound out pulsating beats with the verocity of a 70′s era rock band. Outside of hometown Chicago, they may be best known for high profile and excellent remixes of Daft Punk, Neon Indian, Black Moth Super Rainbow and DFA 1979. Back home they are justly celebrated for legendary performances such as their set at Wicker Park Fest that turned the entire neighborhood into a vast and energized dance floor, forcing even the palest and most resolutely hard-to-impress hipsters to call up their inner dance monsters. Live performances combine loops, samples and Mickey Kellerman's keyboards with Darren Heitz's drums plus Felix Moreno's Larry Graham-style bass slapping to create an enormously powerful groove. Their light show is as good as their music, and their set have been known to inspire dance frenzies.
ZOOGMA combines the sonic diversity and precision of a DJ with the excitement and immediacy of a four piece rock group. Known for their energetic performances and retina pleasing light show, the band consistently dishes out heavy-weight beat-driven dance parties across the nation. Sets are kinetic, combining live improvisation with carefully crafted beats and melodic textures.
With the release of their debut album, “Recreational Vehicles” in 2010 and “Wet Hot American Mixtape” in 2012, along with a relentless tour schedule, the four members have already added their unique voice to the live electronic-rock scene. Evolving in Oxford, MS, ZOOGMA’s sound can be described as an eclectic fusion of Electronica, Rock, and Hip-Hop. This blend of genres results in a musical experience that appeals to a range of audiences, with a sound that is refreshingly original yet steeped in the dance music tradition.
Cosby Sweater is a new and vibrant voice in live electronic music. The versatile trio is comprised of David Embry on production and vocals, Nicholas Gerlach on Tenor Saxophone and EWI and Richard “Sleepy” Floyd on drums.
Cosby Sweater has been on the road making crowds dance since their launch in 2012. Summer festival season was great to Cosby Sweater. Joel Cummins of Umphrey’s McGee joined the band for some break out performances at Electric Forest, Camp Bisco, and Summer Camp.
Fall 2013 (#Cooltourbro) is the biggest tour of their career. The band is honored to share the stage with acts like Umphrey’s McGee, Lotus, Digital Tape Machine, Future Rock, and Zoogma. They are touring in support of their July release #Coolstorybro. This is the bands first full-length tour across the country hitting 23 different states. They have shown no signs of slowing down and will continue to perfect their genre-bending sound.
