Cold Roses

Cold Roses

It’s rare in today’s music to find a band that embodies the swagger of rock and roll, groove of Philly-soul, heartache of the blues and folk-esque storytelling quite like Cold Roses.
After years as a guitarist in Philly bands, Rob Clancy decided to step out on his own as lead singer and songwriter, and form a group to play the music he’d been envisioning for so long. A post to Craig’s List ushered in Brandon Porter on bass, and the lineup became solidified with the addition of Alex Ayala on keys and R.M Webb on drums. The modest four piece would then expand to include a horn section, featuring Rick Rein on trumpet and Tom Petraccaro on saxophone.
Honing their signature sound and electrifying audiences along the east coast for the past year and a half, Cold Roses self-released their debut LP “No Silence In The City” on November 1st, 2014. Produced by Webb and Clancy, and recorded at Miner Street Recordings, the band implemented a more “traditional” recording approach by performing each song live to analog tape, emulating the energy and intimacy of their live shows. The result is an 11 song “tour de force” album that showcases the band’s versatility and “demonstrate[s] what it means to live and breathe the essence of rock and roll…this is a dirty, soulful, wickedly fun album” (ThatMag). Whoever said rock and roll was dead must have just given up.

The Retinas

The retinas are a punk rock power trip from Philadelphia. Casual, whimsical, melodies play atop a variety of action packed, punk rock cadences. The two man rhythm section (Andy Silverman- bass, Anthony Fulginitti- drums) provide a muscular, up tempo roller coaster of modal chord changes and shifting arrangements. Singer/ songwriter Tom Mchugh sings his lyrics through a lens of detached nostalgia and biting sarcasm. He complements and cherishes his past while gleefully mocking and condemning it. The Retinas deliver amped up art rock in a pop song format that is always on the edge of going nuclear.

The Outhouse

The Outhouse is a rock and roll trio from Lancaster PA featuring Rob Seitz (harmonica/vocals), Ryan Overly (drums), and Evan Gentry (bass). Their sound has been described as bluesy punk, some kind of danceable rock, and "loud." They are known for high-energy shows, supporting communities fighting for justice, and issuing well-honed blasts of sonic energy. They are releasing their self produced full length vinyl album later this fall.

The Naked Sun

The Naked Sun is a four piece indie roots rock band based in South Philadelphia. Its current configuration formed in 2012.

Stylistically, the band channels influences like Tom Petty, the Allman Brothers, and Wilco, while fans have compared frontman and singer/songwriter Drew Harris to Jim James of My Morning Jacket. Harris draws on Springsteen and Dylan to inspire his socially conscious and sometimes metaphysical
lyrics.

The Naked Sun is currently promoting the release of their debut EP, Space, Place and Time. Meanwhile, they've begun work on an as-yet-unnamed follow up EP with a targeted release in Spring 2014.
