Austin has upcoming collaborations with Wale, Pusha T, and Troy Ave on the horizon. He has been doing 2/3 shows every week in the NYC area. His solo releases have generated tremendous buzz and positive press which has led him to be managed by Rahim The Dream (Marketing Manager at Atlantic Records). He is currently entertaining record deals from some of the biggest labels in the world.
Harlem, New York’s Austin Millz has always been passionate about music and the process of creating it. After teaching himself Fruity Loops nearly a decade ago, his style and taste has evolved significantly his genesis. Birthed in a city ripe with culture, Austin was heavily influenced by the music-centric atmosphere of New York City, collecting vinyl from a young age and learning both piano and saxophone in his teenage years. He embraced the sounds of jazz, funk, soul and hip-hop before ever producing a beat.
Layering soul samples over hard-hitting drums with riffs on the saxophone and piano, Austin stacked up an arsenal of beats and prepared to debut his talents to the world. In February, 2012, Austin released his debut solo project Earned, consisting of 17 instrumental tracks produced over the course of a year. Earned gained acclaim from numerous digital outlets and encouraged Austin to take a step deeper into the trenches. Hungrier than ever, Austin continued to develop his craft while placing productions with Jim Jones, Maybach Music Group, G.O.O.D. Music, Wale, Troy Ave, and Hit-Boy. Austin describes his music as versatile, forceful, compelling and innovative. With cosigns like the ones he was able to achieve with only a few years of production under his belt, it became clear Austin would be a force to be reckoned with in no time.
Will Brennan is Steve Aoki's newest signee to Dim Mak Records, and is the only rapper on the label. He raps on a lot of electronic production, which makes for a great party/concert. Will has 2 projects finished, one completely produced by Austin Millz and one produced by DJ Burn One (credits include ASAP Rocky, Yelawolf, Starlito, and Rittz). Will also has collaborations with high-profile EDM/Trap acts on the horizon. He has tracks coming out with Steve Aoki, Dirty Audio, Angger Dimas, HeRobust, and Bot of The Crookers. Will also has a pair of singles "RNR (Enferno Remix)" and "RNR 2.0" The Florida Hip Hop Artist from West Palm Beach says, "When I realized music was what I could do best, I dropped out of the University of Florida, and haven't looked back since."
All too often when people think of Little Rock, Arkansas, the first thing that comes to mind is HBO's award-winning documentary Gang War: Bangin' in Little Rock. Not any more. With the Rock on his back and a Razorbacks' fitted cocked just so on his dome, rapper SL Jones is out to prove that Little Rock gangsters can bang in more ways than one.
Born Bryan Jones, SL first turned heads when a verse cut at OutKast's Stankonia Studios caught the ear of Killer Mike, with the pair eventually touring together and collaborating on mixtapes I Pledge Allegiance To The Grind and Underground Atlanta. Following came the release of SL's debut mixtape, C.O.L.O.R.S.: Bangin' On Wax, a project that featured the likes of Clipse, Chamillionaire, Trae Tha Truth, and Big Kuntry, in addition to fellow Grind Time members Killer Mike and Pill.
It wasn't long after, though, that SL knew he had to strike out on his own, and beginning in 2011 he did just that, starting with the release of The Number 23. Hosted by Don Cannon, features on the mixtape included Pill, Trae Tha Truth, Waka Flocka Flame, and Yo Gotti, while Lex Luger, Don Cannon, Shawty Redd, M16, and more handle production. Closing out 2011, SL Jones released his Flight Risk mixtape, Jones' most personal, most aggressive work-to-date, a project through-and-through influenced by SL's childhood neighborhood, 23rd & Wolfe Street, with production from Lex Luger, Shawty Redd, and more.
The two mixtapes garnered strong reviews from XXL Magazine and Atlanta's leading alternative weekly, Creative Loafing, and earned the young gunner well-deserved accolades from FADER, Complex, The Source, HipHopDX, The Smoking Section, Nah Right, RCRD LBL, Dirty Glove Bastard, and more, including a sit down with MTV News' Mixtape Daily and a nationally televised "On Deck" feature with MTV2's Sucker Free.
Now, as one of hip-hop's brightest young talents, the Little Rock rhyme slinger has his eyes firmly on the future, with a new album, Paraphernalia, produced entirely by lauded Atlanta producer DJ Burn One, on the way as he continues to show and prove his way through the industry and into fans' playlists. "I just want people to listen," says SL Jones, "and they'll respect it for what it is.--quality music."
