DJ LOBO was born and raised in Queens New York in 1977. Since the young age of 10, he became mesmerized by the art of spinning, watching his brother practice on mixing music in their house. DJ Lobo’s first big break came at the age of fifteen playing in clubs in Queens,. Since the opportunity to showcase is talent, there was no looking back, he began playing in every major Latin club in New York, Miami, Houston, Los Angeles and Atlanta.
DJ Lobo radio career started in 2000 with a Friday and Saturday night show on Latino Mix (105.9FM) in New York, His contagious style of mixing and hyping the crowds over the airwaves became contagious, extending his radio programming to a daily show during afternoon drive called “Traffic Jam”. In 2005, DJ Lobo joined the #1 Spanish Radio station in the United States, WSKQ 97.9FM La Mega in New York City. Today DJ Lobo can also be heard on ”Music Choice” the popular TV Channel of music that can be heard in 95% of digital cable homes nation wide.
DJ Lobo’s passion for music and radio has taken him around the world, playing for crowds internationally. His gift of mixing and becoming crowd favorite also landed him membership in the exclusive world renown DJ crew “The Heavy Hitters” His passion for music also extends him to Hip Hop, Reggae and House, making him one of the most musically diverse DJs around.
Carlos Baez, AKA DJ Kabeza, is the disc jockey and host of Latina 100.3's "Tapón, Tapón…Bumper to Bumper" show which airs every weekday from 3:00-7:00 PM. He does a mix-show from 4:00-6:00PM. Saturday evenings, DJ Kabeza, plays the latest hits from 6:00-9:00PM, in his show called "Saturday Night Jams." As well as working at Latina 100.3, DJ Kabeza currently works as the resident DJ for the Latin Night at ROXY Providence on Saturdays. On Fridays, you can find him spinning the best music at Club Monet, in downtown Providence. And on Sundays, he plays in Providence Southside‟s Salón de Fiestas Anacaona. Along with these regular appearances, you can find DJ Kabeza, playing the best music, in many other spots throughout Rhode Island and New England.
DJ Kabeza has worked in the radio industry for many years. Most recently, he worked for Hot 106-Providence‟s main Hip-Hop radio station. Locally, he has promoted artists such as Don Omar, Anthony Santos, Sergio Vargas, Hector Acosta „El Torito‟, Frank Reyes, among many others. DJ Kabeza has also ventured into the business world. He was one of the principal owners of Area4zero1, an upscale men‟s clothing store in Rhode Island. Currently, he is opening a car dealership in Providence, Rhode Island.
DJ Kabeza has lived in Rhode Island after his family immigrated to this country from the Dominican Republic. He attended public schools in the cities of Providence and Central Falls and graduated from Central Falls High School. He has volunteered with many community organizations in Providence and other neighboring communities, primarily with youth sports organizations. He now lives in Providence with his wife and two children.
