All Hallows Eve w/ Camp Freddy
Rock & Roll For A Great Cause -
On October 26, 2013, Hollywood’s best-known “Super Group” - Camp Freddy (www.campfreddy.net) - will play the 2nd Annual All Hallows Eve Costume Party at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC. 100% of the GA ticket sales will go directly to the Boulder Crest Veterans Charity (www.bouldercrestretreat.org).
Who Is Camp Freddy?
"The future of Rock & Roll is Camp Freddy. A true rarity - a Super Group that's actually super. A loose gathering of great rock stars that come together to play the world's greatest rock songs - with some of the world's other great rock stars as 'special guests'".
The core of Camp Freddy consists of guitarist Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction), drummer Matt Sorum (The Cult, Guns 'N Roses/Velvet Revolver), Billy Morrison (The Cult), Chris Chaney (Jane's Addiction, Alanis Morissette), and frontman Donovan Leitch. The band came together for the sole purpose of playing the greatest rock songs of all time and providing a venue for other world famous rock stars to come out and jam in a totally relaxed environment. Over 100 legends of rock and roll have performed with Camp Freddy, including such
musical icons as Steven Tyler, Slash, Kid Rock, Macy Gray, Ozzy Osbourne and Pink showing the band’s musical range.
Our Charitable Partner:
Boulder Crest Retreat is a rural sanctuary in Bluemont, VA, that supports wounded warriors and their families during the long recovery process from serious injuries and illness. The 37-acre retreat provides free accommodations and numerous activities and programs to assist in the physical, mental and spiritual recovery processes for wounded warriors and their families. The nonprofit retreat serves between 250-500 families each year, offering opportunities for them to spend time with each other while enjoying activities such as nature walks, yoga and meditation classes, and off-site excursions.
The Surreal McCoys
The Surreal McCoys are a gritty band of hardcore troubadours who play "Johnny Clash" style cowpunk to sweat-soaked audiences all over the country.
If Howlin' Wolf and Patsy Cline guzzled moonshine while having snarlin' backwoods fever sex under the full moon at the crossroads of Highways 61 and 49 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, the Surreal McCoys would be their star-crossed demon seed offspring.
After years in the wilderness, we set aside all our festering recriminations, backhanded accusations, and artistic differences...and guns to concentrate exclusively on making the cowpunk. We polished up the instruments, oiled our chaps, and practiced all three chords, mastering two of them. Since then, we've played all over this land, from the Corn Belt to the Porn Belt.
So be on the lookout for the mighty Surreal McCoys on our never-ending "Three Chords and a Cloud of Dust: One Stop World Tour." It's rolling on and coming to a town near you, to the chagrin of livestock and revenuers everywhere.
It's bound to be a beer-guzzlin, spur-whirlin, bone-crunchin' good time for the whole family, especially if your family likes campfire sing-alongs, corn liquor, and animal husbandry (and not necessarily in that order).
