The girls of Spinn have always been firm believers that there’s not much in life that can’t be fixed with great music, good friends, and a few shots of tequila. And whether it’s their beautiful blend of three part harmonies, vibrant stage presence, or infectious personalities, it’s no wonder their attitude helped them receive notoriety around the Jersey music scene and beyond.
Forming in 2006, they began playing shows at legendary Asbury Park venues such as The Saint and Fastlane, and soon spread their music across the Hudson River in NYC with a wave of performances at Kenny’s Castaway’s, The Delancy, Ella Lounge, Tammany Hall, and the National Underground. After gaining monentum over the next several years, Spinn went on to record their debut album “She Was Heartache” in 2009 with a rhythm section that included guitarist Steve DeSteno and drummer Dominick Velardo. This lead to a successful college radio promotion campaign and even a feature on NJ Radio station’s WDHA 105.5 FM on Lindsay Klein’s Homegrown Spotlight.
Their release of the 2009 EP “She was Heartache” brought the band to new heights around the US, eventually landing then in Hartford, CT at the Webster and a slot at Peabody’s Inn for the Cleveland Music Festival. Spinn went on to release their most recent album “A Little Crazy” in July 2012 and have moved from playing smaller clubs to bigger venues such as Rockwood Music Hall, Arlene’s Grocery, and the Bitter End.
Reminiscent of the Dixie chicks, the Gin Blossoms and the acoustic-laden styling of Ray Lamontagne, their unique melody lines grab audiences’ attention immediately and their ability to blend different genres always proves to entertain and inspire. Spinn considers their friends and fans a part of an extended family and wishes to share their feel-good atmosphere with honest lyrics and a style of songwriting that is sure to pull you in from the moment the music starts.
"...a strong blues/rock riff and a pleasant vocal from Lawless that sounds like a more subdued version of Jimi Hendrix or Robert Cray."
"The riffing is wonderfully catchy and driving and is backed up by a chugging bass performance that demonstrates Lawless’ abilities aren’t just limited to playing lead".
-- Heath Andrews

Troy Dean (b. March 25, 1986) is a singer-songwriter from Allentown, PA. He attended William Allen High School, where he decided to pursue a career in music. He grew up surrounded by great music, exposed to classic artists, especially Elvis Presley, via his grandparents’ record collection. They took him many times to see performances at the historic Grand Old Opry. Dean’s mother, herself the lead singer of a band for several years, taught him how to sing.
In 2005, Dean took his talent to NYC, meeting with Randy Witherspoon of Mopptopp Records. Witherspoon quickly put Dean in the studio and invited him to join the Project Youth Initiative, an opportunity for young, undiscovered talent. PYI performances such as a live show in DUMBO landed Dean in New York newspapers, earning him a lot of publicity. Two years later, Dean showcased for PA radio host Phil Stahl from 90.3 FM. His name and sound spread across the East Cost, and so did his fan base. He played nightclubs and bars every night of the week. Numerous publications featured Troy Dean’s music, and he even received an offer from Red Horse Records, an extension of Dixiana Music in Nashville. In 2010, Dean traveled to San Francisco, where he participated in the nationally acclaimed singing competition, American Idol. The following year, he was featured in a large-scale charity event and opened for esteemed rocker, Bret Michaels at the Crocodile Rock Cafe.
Today, Dean is living in New York City and heavily active in New York’s music scene. He’s performed at popular venues such as The Red Lion and Ella Lounge, and he frequents open mic nights throughout the city. He has recorded three new singles, acoustic ballads, at Metaphonic Studios. “Catch Me,” “Penny,” and “Hell or High Water” are currently available on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play. Troy Dean is an independent and unsigned artist.
